03.02.2024 - 17:52Fantastic buzzing, wholefood cafe in the heart of Avalon serving everything that your body will thank you for. Started with an immune booster juice (apple, carrot and ginger), and a dirty soy latte! Stunning presentation! The spicy bean and corn nachos w organic linseed chips was moorish and tasty. The wood-fired salmon bruschetta was so smokey and full of flavour with a generous dollop of avocado, a refreshing salad with a green goodness dressing, accompanied by top quality soy and linseed toast. Loved the fact that the generous serving of toast was to the side rather than traditional bruschetta! Coming back to try more of this wholesome, delicious menu! Worth the trip!

03.02.2024 - 12:25Trivia night Tuesday is up and running at the Rose in Chippendale as we munch on the daily special before heading off to the theatre! Wow, baby! Step back in time! Used to play pool here back in the uni days but didn't spot a pool table (I'm sure there's one somewhere)....just a large crowd eating the daily special of Chicken Parmi for $11 with a salad on the side! If you spend over $20 you get a free drink, so I bought two mains and got a beer for my friend for free! Totally great value and the dinner was delicious and skilfully cooked! Download the app to stay in touch with daily deals.... they even have a vegan veg menu on Wednesday for $12! Suitably impressed! The Native Rose....you have blossomed!

03.02.2024 - 05:50The sign says 'Under New Management ' so we wanted to give this Dank Street cafe a try! Sunday brunch on a public holiday and the place was buzzing! The new manager was so friendly, fun and chatty with his customers that everyone seemed to be a friend. His enthusiasm and energy is infectious and rubbed off onto his staff. Coffee is so seriously good and we all ordered seconds instead of the usual one! We decide on The Best Vego wrap you 've ever had $8.50) minus the haloumi for my little vegan w cumin roasted chickpeas, rocket, hummus, quinoa tabbouleh), the Signature One Pan Breakfast w two fried eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushroom, grilled chorizo, bacon, chat potatoes, toast and homemade relish $21) and a freshly baked matcha muffin w pear and chocolate $4). Loved it all and a great way to spend a holiday!

01.02.2024 - 20:49Devouring freshly shucked oysters with a fantastic glass of white as we watch the sun setting beyond the boats at The Spit marina! I ask you .... on a balmy summer 's evening in Sydney where would you rather be! Only booked 10mins before arriving so lucky to get the best table closest to the water! Full house btw. Baby snapper with olives, grapes and capers and Black Angus with caramelised onions and rocket salad. Tiramisu to top it all off. Who cares if the service is a little 'Fiji time '. I 'm chilled and watching the sunset.

01.02.2024 - 12:53Had a fantastic romantic dinner at the Temples of Taste and was seriously satisfied. Walked there from The Alamanda at nighttime but a few people told us to be wary of crocodiles along the way. Still trying to work out if they were serious! Arriving at the Sea Temple reminded me of an episode of Survivor with the torches blazing and the bold Indiana Jones type frontage of the resort. This is actually a compliment as it is very visually exciting and added a bit of mystery to the evening! Had a lovely passionfruit and lime caprioska at the bar to start and our barman was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He even had us trying a couple of wines that would accompany our dinner. A true sommelier in action! For entrees we enjoyed Coconut Crusted Prawns and Crispy Baby Calamari. Very good! We both chose the Seafood Curry Pot for our main and this was filled with prawns, mackerel, scallops, calamari, and blue swimmer crab served with flatbread, pilaf, pappadums and mango chutney! Dinner was sensational and the service was very good to match. For dessert we had a fun 'Dropped Ice-cream ' which was a cinnamon and nut crunch, chewy maple, rosemary and marcapone ice-cream! What a great evening!

31.01.2024 - 17:35You can almost feel the hard effort and early morning starts in the atmosphere as this place focuses on providing the best baked goods for Manly locals. Come for the bread and pastries, but you must also stay for the coffee! It's good! Breakfast is served until 12pm and you can choose from items like a bacon egg roll, fruit and nut toast, muesli w yoghurt and fruit, croissants or Infinity Sourdough w feta tomato and pesto. So many temptations on the sweet front too. Love the intensity of the passionfruit tart! They also specialise in gluten free bread, gluten free vegan muffins, and gluten and dairy free tarts. Picked up coffees, a cheesy pizza scroll and a baguette to go! Quality assured!

31.01.2024 - 15:44The Butcher's Cafe was once a combined butcher shop and cafe. Now the dividing wall has been bricked up and the butcher shop is the Fairlight Butcher and the old butcher still runs the Butcher's Cafe! Confused! Anyhow....the coffee is the best in the area with #barista.mike on the job and the cafe offers great all day favourites such as the wagyu beef burger, the roast Cowra lamb leg roll, pulled BBQ pork roll, Cape Grim steak sandwich or the avo salmon smash! Totally delicious! Lots of cakes, muffins and sweet treats too!
