17.02.2024 - 09:01This is a real treasure. Great food and very friendly and efficient service. We ate the salmorejo (Córdoba's gazpacho) and then the incredible ox tail stew which is one of the best main courses I've had in ages. such a, depth of flavour. My husband had the solomillo of ib ham. Equally fantastic. Simple dessert, bread and wine included for onky €19 is amazing alue. In addition both the owner and the waitress wwre delightful. Both spoke English but we're happy to explain in very ckear Spanish what the food was. A definite recommendation.

16.02.2024 - 15:27A nice but unremarkable lunch. Lovely service but goat's cheese on pain de mie followed by a duck sausage (very tasty) with plain rice and an OK strawberry cheese cake was not what I had hoped for from the reviews here. Good value but really not worth a detour. A little more trouble in presentation and flavour would bring the food up to the level of the service. OK but disappointed.

02.01.2024 - 03:11My first pour review of this usually great place. Very surly waitress. When I chose osso bucco I didn't expect it to be lukewarm. I said it was not hot. No apology. Just took it away, brought it back with less meat and slightly hotter and again no apology. She needs training as the other staff are lovely.

08.11.2023 - 19:58Booked in advance in person and the very friendly staff reserved a table out of the way as we were bringing our dogs. Straight away a bowl of water for them and menus and carte de vins for us. Every plate was perfection in taste and look, the wine was delicious and the service was impeccable attentive, friendly and not in any way rushed. Very chatty and relaxed. I can't understand how people could criticise this place. But we were upstairs... Maybe downstairs is different. Thank you Côte Vermeille for a spectacular birthday lunch.

21.10.2023 - 14:32We were desperate. That's why we went here. Friendly but disorganised waiting staff and although we asked not to have any olives, ham and cheeses as aperitifs he brought them anyway and said we wouldn't be charged if we didn't eat anything. So I firmly told him we didn't want to have any so take it away. The meals were varied in quality great sardines but disgusting calamari. Over priced and not recommended unless like us you were desperate!

20.08.2023 - 06:24We first ate here over 20 years ago and have fond memories of the great pizzas, local food and great atmosphere. It was relaxed and enjoyable and utterly lacking pretension. Sadly it now thinks it's posh. The prices are far too high, the choice of food is not great and the food itself is very average. Jeff is still charming but his ambitions for the restaurant far outstrip it's location, kitchen and decor you really can't charge top rates for plastic furniture. Very sad to have had our last meal here not living up to our memories.

12.08.2023 - 12:02With all the restaurants in Argeles port with their laminated menus, we weren't expecting a great deal... But La Mariscada had a blackboard menu which was limited (always a sign of fresh cooking). Service was properly covid 19 appropriate and incredibly friendly, offering to bring water for our dogs as it was a hot but windy day. Lovely house wine. And the food was fab! Wonderful soupe e poisson (they even double checked that no seafood had been used in its preparation as my husband is allergic it had so chose another starter). We both had the porc with a local Banyuls sauce (divine) on a bed of crushed potato. Beautifully presented and cooked. Dessert was pannacota with raspberries but I had just ice cream delicious. All for €16.90 without drinks. Amazing value.

26.07.2023 - 17:36Probably the best meal I have ever had. Why this place is not the number one in Marmande is more than likely because it's not cheap but it is such exceptional value. And the flavours!! For classy beautifully cooked and presented dishes, this far surpasses Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion and Monbazillac's Tour de Vent. A pre amuse bouche of three delicate mouthfuls, an amuse bouche of sun dried tomato soup with pesto and a quail's egg and then... Foie gras with chocolate sauce (yes I thought it sounded like a joke but it was sublime , a main of saddle of rabbit in a spiced Thai sauce, deep fried reblochon and an amazing sphere of chocolate encasing poached pear pieces served with a hot chocolate sauce! Then a plate of homemade sweets to finish. Just incredible. Perfect service, great food beautiful setting. This is a fantastic place. Thank you la famille Boat. Sorry we can't give you 6 stars.

17.07.2023 - 01:07Having had lunch here I can't quite understand the rave reviews. The best parts of a rather uninteresting lunch were the dessert (lovely light mousse au chocolat) and the red wine which was great. Starter was a slice of paté en croute served with two cornichons and bread fine but hardly imaginative and the main was a rather bland but perfectly OK porc curry, which came with rice, none of which was hot but at an edible temperature. Service was swift, but then the were only 3 people in total for lunch, and reasonably friendly. Nothing to write home about and on the basis of this we wouldn't go back. Fine for lunch but uninteresting. Nice that we could take our dogs.
