This one pony rides for kids! Too cute seeing all the ponies. Large, bustling market, with arts and crafts vendors alongside the beautiful produce stands. The only downside is that the area is already busy and hard to find parking. The lot I tried to use wanted to charge us $10! Try to find somewhere further (and walk) or dine at a nearby restaurant which would allow you to park there. Will get pics another time when it's hopefully a bit less crowded.

Gorgeous! Love it already. Beautiful displays, plenty of specialty variety, lots of plant based brands, large fresh to go options, and I want to eat the bread cabinet.... Being the 365 line, the prices are more reasonable, similar to Sprouts. Granted I went to the Grand Opening but I hope the vibe, the friendliness, and the ample freshness continue. Will be dropping by again soon.

I used to live in the asian part of LA, where all the foodies will go to eat the best such and such of asian fare. True, there were good, cheap, around the clock places to eat, but I had few favorite places that were herbivore friendly. And the whole atmosphere of loud, dirty, and greasy was tiring. Ironically, I ate less asian food because of it. Who knew, almost an hour away, was a nice, clean, cozy place in Long Beach tucked in a plaza near the marina that has Chinese food that put a big smile on my face! This was a total surprise and I will be returning. The chef at Nomad Asian Bistro takes the time to make everything including the noodles, wontons, and potstickers. I haven't had hand pulled noodles in who knows how long and they were fresh, chewy and delightful. To my greatest surprise, I have found my favorite veggie dumplings! I must have eaten every veggie dumpling available in the greater LA area and figured they'd never be those like my grandpa's. Seeing these on the menu at Nomad's, at first I thought they were over priced (as mentioned, I'm used to the cheap fast style). I scoffed that it didn't come out of the kitchen in 30 seconds, but when they did arrive, I ate my dumplings and my cynicism and told the waitstaff to give my compliments to the chef. Homemade skins, superstuffed with veggies, and cooked perfectly. And I will go on record saying that famous Din Tai Fung's veggie dumplings are weak. They're tiny, skimpy, and you basically gobble them up while watching omnivore friends insist that their dumplings are really good. Praise as they might, I think DTF is overrated and they're the ones who are overpriced. For a better dumpling for your buck, head to Nomad's. At least they're worth it. I'll join you. Also, my omnivore date enjoyed his dishes, they were large in quantity and we both went home with plenty of leftovers. We both felt the need to try more dishes though for the full effect. I recommend going with company, as the dishes are on the minimal ingredient side, family style; the noodles are mostly noodles, the chicken is mostly chicken. I do wish I had more ingredients in my noodles though, since I think that would have reduced the settling effect sticking together (fresher noodles especially). Vegans: the vegetarian dishes do contain eggs so specify if you don't want them. They are accommodating, after all, the food isn't coming off a flash cooked assembly line. Good clean Chinese food cooked with care, who knew.

A fantastic outdoor farmers market, focusing on local produce and vendors, as well as local musicians. Plenty of fruits and veggies and plants. Among prepared foods there are nut butters,sauces/dips, baked goods, empanadas, and pizza. I also met the folks of Cookie's cookies, who are a Long Beach based cookie company making vegan and gluten free cookies! Non food vendors include aromatherapy, creams and beauty products, clothing, and jewelry. The area can get a bit congested since it's located at a park near the beach, but there are parking lots around. Overall a great farmers market and of course very veggie friendly! The first time I went to this market was right after a jog along the beach makes the fruit that much more refreshing :

I've enjoyed every drink I've tried here. Granted I can't go often though, since it's pricey and I'm a fan of making smoothies and elixirs at home. However, when I'm lazy, any of their drinks hits the spot. If you're up for being cleansed, they're on it, if you want to indulge, whoa, there's something with chocolate and avocado in it! And it's still good for you :D Note: for novices to the funky healthy drink, some flavors are pretty potent (like if you're not a fan of ginger or grass) but if you are, and you like the super clean and happy feeling of drinking something mother earth concocted for you, sip away.

This place must have improved since the last reviews, we had a great experience here. Yes it's a small place and not for a fancy date, but if your fancy date enjoys delicious and filling grub, this is a local joint that will satisfy. First, we go in on a random weekday night and it's packed with Indian families, a very good sign. We go to the center area that has all the desserts displayed and the menu board above. One of the managers asked what we would like and we said we wanted dinner but hadn't been here before. He happily got menus and began to explain what they had, soon recommending that we get two of the thali combos. The food came out quickly and he came over to briefly explain what we had, and later asked if everything was ok, sweet as pie. : The food was delicious. While I wish there was less dairy (the salted milk, and one of the soups was a bit heavy with it the rest was pretty much vegan. Just one dish from each thali had paneer. The squash soup was delightfully sweet and another favorite was the okra which I was glad did not have the usual sliminess. Just be careful if you're cautious on spice. True to this area, even mild amounts can be a decent sinus clearing my favorite level! I ate like a queen and was near bursting at the end. And as the place was getting ready to close, around 9, we noticed there were still large family parties there, still making their way through their mounds of food. It seems we hit a local favorite :

I stopped by here after being inspired by a friend who showed up to my house one day with a large box of their samosas. Some days, you just don't want to cook, and seeing that we didn't have time to have a sit down meal at a restaurant, I love that I could just go somewhere to order a thali platter to take home. While there is seating and many people will come to stay a while to eat, this place is also a bustling take-out mart, and lines of people will come in just to get a box of sweets or to pick up an order. The friendly staff took my order (everything here is vegetarian, and they will let you know what is vegan), and then I just enjoyed the ambiance and people-watched while I waited for my food. It didn't take very long, and I headed home with a large lunch. Granted it would have been better to eat there, as our enormous dosa and fluffy puri didn't quite make the trip home unscathed... but the flavors were wonderful and we ate everything. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was the fun indian taco fusion (why not, I think they were playing with daily specials) but all the items from the regular menu were fantastic. I will definitely be coming back, either to get myself another box of goodies or more preferably, to grab a table and enjoy everything there. *upon coming back, it is CRAZY and hard to get somewhere to sit. Once you do, your pager goes off whenever one or more of your dishes is ready and you go up to get your food, but since they may not all come out at the same time, you go through the huddle again whenever something is ready. Be ready for crowds and trying to squeeze for seats, we were elbow to elbow with some others (who were all very cool so it was fine) but you won't have quiet meal. Trying a few more dishes, they are very good, but not sure if it was worth the bustle when outside it's neighboring restaurants are just as good* Updated from previous review on 2017-08-30

I was among the many who were skeptical just hearing that this place exists and would have edible pizza but in cases like this, I love being proven wrong! There are a variety of familiar pizzas and Thai dishes in general on the menu but the primary sellers here are the Thai Green Curry and the Tom Yum Pizzas. These can be ordered with tofu instead of meat and they'll ask if you want to hold the cheese (aka vegan). I promise, you'll be surprised at how delicious it is. This is a hole in the wall and I thought they were closed down if it weren't for the constant stream of people that came in to pick up their orders. Many seemed to be regulars. We've now ordered both Thai pizzas in the regular (chicken and cheese) and the vegan (tofu, no cheese) styles and they were always delicious. I now have two favorite pizzas to top my list. Who knew?

I wish I was closer to them. We actually enjoyed our meal better than the ones we've had over at Fairfax in Little Ethiopia! Small, family run business, they were all very sweet and friendly. Our platter came out (the platter for two and it was perfect. We were happy to see they have a steady stream of take out customers and many seemed to be regulars. Will definitely be visiting again. Easy parking (lot is part of a plaza , a perfect amount of food (we were very full , and the flavors were excellent. Support a wonderful place and go eat here :

This isn 't the biggest location of the chain, but it does its job. Located in a shopping plaza, the area gets a little cramped but I 've only had positive experiences here. I drop in fairly often if I just want a Whole Foods fix or if there is something specific I want to pick up. The staff are friendly, and even though most HappyCow readers don 't need to know this, they often grill outside and say hello to folks passing by. There is also a small seating area outside, and they 've had little contests for shoppers (like a veggie quiz woot! got myself a nice basket of earth friendly goodies , so it seems to try to fit into the community, which I appreciate. The vegan selection has grown, in my op. There 's at least a section of the prepared foods that has both vegetarian and vegan options, and they 're always willing to let you sample and in fact I just had a roast that I got there for dinner : There is vegan pizza, although not as readily available as larger places. This location is cozier and not as awe inspiring as some of its huge counterparts, but it 's still a Whole Foods, so anything vegan or specialty that you 're looking for will be there.
