Weiterlesen Strip mall pizza/bar joint that reminds me of Davanni’s or Broadway Pizza, but I’m sorry as others have pointed out the service here is terrible... horrible. It’s pretty normal to wait and stare at the bartender or waitress for 20+ minutes while they are hobknobbing with regulars or texting on their phone or just spaced out. It’s worse than Walgreens a few blocks away. I’ve been here 4-5 times and experienced this with Janelle at least twice, and others. The first time she apologized profusely and asked if I “hated” her because of it but the second time we kinda know what her habits are. It would get old for her to apologize that much every hour and every night.And the last time I was there she made me call an Uber at bar closing because I had a couple Long Island drinks (and nothing else) but the guy next to me, a regular, was there since noon and could barely walk, and he stumbled into his big truck while I waited outside for a Uber. She was fine with that. So, I just stopped coming.They have some good happy hour specials though. The pizza is okay. And the place is usually pretty packed for such a small place. Apparently they’ve started axe throwing. Not sure if that’s under same ownership. I might give it a try someday. As Mama G’s tries to get away from the late late night crowd and places like Chops and JCs have closed, Chanticlear has an opening. I would like to see more bands play and other entertainment. And more attentive wait staff.
