After getting a sumptuous meal, we were invited back to spend a lovely hour in the kitchen, and me and my wife talked to Benny about all sorts of things such as poetry, shapes, and his favorite culinary TV shows! Weiterlesen Nice food.  Benetis Athena is a restaurant convenient located close to the 55. It has Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. I asked for the Gyro and Souvlaki Platter (A generous portion of lamb and beef strips and chicken served with Greek salad, tzatziki sauce and pita) for lunch. For me, the food was abundant and delicious. One of the things that I most appreciate this day's is the possibility to eat outside, in this place, you can.  A good option, in Durham. I will come back to this restaurant.

From there we both ordered chicken and waffles with a side of potatoes and bacon. The potatoes were good, the bacon wasn?t what I imagined as you can see in the picture. The waffles were inedible because of the flavorless syrup. I asked for a side of ranch and was charged $1 without being notified. After we ordered, we were not checked on and our drinks were not refilled. We will not return.

Weiterlesen Last night was the first time we had eaten there. I got the smothered pork chops with cabbage and pintos and my husband got the hamburger steak with turnip greens and cabbage. The meat on both plates were great but the cabbage was too peppery, the pintos had good flavor but they were mushy and the turnip greens needed more seasoning. We will be back for the sandwiches and to try the other veggies.

The food took a while to come, but we were okay with it because we weren't crunchy at a time. We were attentive and the manager regularly checks us. I would definitely recommend getting reservations because it was just there later in the evening. I would recommend this place and definitely be back.
