We got showed to a table outside and then waited over 10 minutes and still no one had come over to take out drinks order. We had to wave someone over. We then ordered drinks and food all at once. The waiter told us that they had run out of one of the mains that we had ordered so we had to order something else. Our drinks were brought over and then we waited for over half an hour with no food, only then for a waiter to come over and tell us that they did not have anymore of the starter dish we had ordered (why did it take them that long to realise that?!! , so we ordered something else, only for him to come over again 5 minutes later and tell us that they had run out of that too... We then waited about 45 minutes for our 3rd choice starter to arrive. We were almost about to up and leave at this point. They brought it out just in time. We wish we had left though as it was pretty disgusting (we had ordered marinated chicken wings, and what we got was deep fried battered chicken parts . Meanwhile, it was clear that there were lots of unhappy customers around us: One group had been waiting for food for nearly 2 hours apparently. They got fed up and left. Another couple's mains came out but they did not have any cutlery nor the rice they had ordered to accompany their mains so could not eat them. They waited for the rice to be cooked but it took half an hour before they also got fed up of waiting (and their main had gone cold before they left. Another table received multiple wrong orders of their food and also left disgruntled. There was another table unhappy with their food (I couldn't hear why but they also left as did 2 other groups that had since arrived and sat down to order but had not received any drinks/starters etc. The bad service and mistakes with orders became a bit of a joke between tables. We were by this point pretty annoyed and again on the verge of leaving, especially since the starter was a disappointment. But we gave them the benefit of the doubt and they brought out our mains just in time. They were OK, but they were very sickly after a few bites and we could not finish them. Also, and probably not the restaurant's fault as it was outside, in the evening in the middle of a city but there were rats running along the edges of the courtyard in the plant beds which was pretty horrible. We only noticed that near the end else we would not have stayed at all. Overall it was a real let down, and lots of customers went away hungry and unhappy that night. Although, we were all sat outside everyone inside looked happy and we're all enjoying their food, so perhaps it was just an off day for them? Maybe it was just too busy for the restaurant to cope with? But if so they should not have taken in any new customers that night it was all going wrong. We were really looking forward to a nice Thai meal but in the end left hungry and disappointed.

First of all they only include 2 finger sandwiches on the tray and do not offer additional, unlike many other hotels. But even worse, the sandwiches had that cold heavy feeling that...they get when they have been sitting in the fridge and are not freshly made. The mini pie had also been microwaved which left is stodgy. Most annoying, when I asked for the cakes, which I had not touched, to be boxed up to take home I was very politely informed that due to a change in state laws, food which has been sitting out in excess of 2 hours cannot be taken away by the customer. Given I had been at the restaurant for less than 1 hour I was most displeased. Had my food been sitting out in the open in the kitchen for the past few hours before it was served to me? On the plus side the staff were lovely and the tea selection was excellent. There is no view and the tables are effectively in foyer like area which lacks atmosphere. My recommendation is for a really special high tea skip the Langham and go to the Park Hyatt at the Rocks, it’s a similar cost and a far superior customer experience.

Der kräftigere hat nur abgeräumt und die Tische weder gewischt noch desinfiziert. Ansonsten gibt es in Ludwigshafen nichts weiter, wo man draußen sitzen kann.

Dim sum is a let down, the filling is mushy, they must have used food processor instead of mincing by hand. When I’m paying 20 bucks for a dish, I have certain expectation to its portion and its taste, especially for weekday lunch. They use small boxes for main course, and small soup container for dim sum. Their takeout menu calls appetizer “entree”. The “special sauce” in crispy tofu isn’t anything special, it’s really 榨菜(pickled veggie) mixed with soya sauce. What makes crispy tofu even less appetizing is their obsession with coriander. Don’t they know that it tastes like soap to certain people? Why not use a more inclusive plant? Fried rice uses frozen pea&corn&carrot. Even if they use fresh pea&corn&carrot, the portion is laughable at this price. I’d happily accept 8 dollars for what it is, but at double the price? Ridiculous. Daylight robbery. Now come to think about the nuts, I wouldn’t be surprised if they used store bought roasted cashew and just add them last minute.
