Restaurant bewertenTired of Morrison’s? Looking for a 5-star dining experience, but don’t want to drive to Sacto hassle with the “too cool” set? Then look no further for there is NO better place to go than Tazzina Bistro. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is elegant without ever being pretentious. All of the dishes that we have tried have been of the highest quality: ingredients, presentation and, most importantly, taste. At each meal the oh’s and ah’s would lead us to taste from everyone’s dishs and the results were the same each time — “Wow, that is incredible! Maybe I’ll get that next time.” After dinner, don’t rush off! Order some dessert and a coffee or espresso drink and savor the wonderful experience that is Tazzina Bistro. And if you are anything like me, you may find yourself planning your next occasion to eat at this beautiful Bistro in the heart of Historic Woodland.
From the sidewalk tables out front to the open kitchen at the back, it’s just like finding a Parisian family restaurant on Main St. However, it’s the food that makes you feel as if you are really in Paris. When left to my own devices, I gravitate to the salmon, which is terrific, but when I yield to my friendly and knowledgeable wait staff’s recommendations, the food has been way beyond my expectations. The presentation is also five star, without the five star price. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but when you want a great meal in a semi-casual environment, Tazzina Bistro in Woodland is the perfect choice.
This was our 7th visit to the bistro, and it was a special event (our wedding anniversary). My husand and I cannot get enough of the fantastic, rich, and savory dishes that the Chef keeps bringing in to our lives. We wish we could visit more, but with the economy we try to eat out less frequently. The evening started out with them giving us a quiet window table that was romantic… You wouldn’t believe how often you make reservations to a place and you ask for something special and you end up sitting in the worst place. The bistro staff definitely took care of us, especially because I have bad food allerigies. We usually end up with the same server, which we dont mind. Its great to see familiar staff. We started off with a bottle of red wine that we brought in and the marinated olives. They say warm, but they come out hot, delicious, and tender with lots of spice and saltiness. Our second courses (I had) the mix greens with a basil dressing, sweet corn, and tomatoes. (my husband had) the heirloom tomato gazpacho which was spicy, chilled and very flavorful. Came out in yellow which suprised me because ive never seen a yellow gazpacho but our server was happy to explain it was because of the local grown tomatoes which are naturally yellow and green. Third Course: I had the Fish special which was the Halibut on sweet corn, potatoes, and zucchini and topped with a tomato sauce. The kitchen was gracious enough to change the dish since I cant have dairy. My husband had a Spaghettini Prunesca which is something he hasnt had since he was in Europe. He loved it and said that it was an interesting interpretation of the dish with seafood and lots of herbs. Finally, we finished off the dinner with the sorbets which are made in house. Strawberry, honeydew, and another melon. We couldnt keep from devouring those since its been so warm lately. The server then surpised us with a complmentarty glass of port for our anniversary. Theres no doubt in my mind that the warm, and friendly service staff and great food is what makes this place so unforgetable! Thank you Bistro for having such a wonderful staff and inventive dishes to keep our taste buds interested and wanting more. You made our anniversary a special night to remember
