Restaurant bewertenVery interesting place and if you like dogs nice place to eat. The hamburgers are very big and juicy
Man...Am I glad we stumbled across this place! This incredible experience started by pulling up to their restaurant 5 minutes before they opened and noticing this place looked more like an abandoned work shop than a restaurant. But when the clock striked noon and the door swung open, we were kindly greeted by a strapped older man with a half blind dog carrying a dead mouse which I can only assume now came directly from the kitchen. Upon entering, we noticed the smoke shop on the left, and the foul smell of 40 years of cigarettes being smoked that came from the cigarette vending machine in the entryway that still seemed operable. This of course prompted the question is there smoking allowed in this restaurant and a quick response of not during restaurant hours , more on this later. Once seated, our server dressed in tight blue jeans and a sturgis shirt approached the table looking like he hadn 't slept for weeks with a look on his face like why in the world would you guys choose to eat here? asked to take our order. After quickly passing on the $55 fish and chips, yes $55 fish and chips, our family decided on a hamburger, chicken sandwich, and chicken fingers for the kid. Hamburger was fine, the chicken sandwich was equivalent to a Tyson chicken patty, and the chicken fingers were lacking chicken in them. Prior to wrapping up our meal at this fine establishment, we watched the old man mentioned earlier fire up a cigarette at the bar, as he gazed out at the lake, proud of what the H&H has become over the years. The innovation used around this place was quite inspiring, especially the 1970 's kids metal high chair with one leg being used to hold down the ice cream bucket dog water bowl to avoid it from being tipped over as he meandered through the dining room. Honestly if you keep your expectations incredibly low, and take in the beauty and sights this place has to offer, it won 't be a wasted trip, but rather an experience you 'll never forget. Just know there will be times where you need to look the other way, as there isn 't a chance in hell this restaurant would pass a food and health inspection. Upgraded to 2 stars for our most memorable lunch we 've ever had.
Pricey, and eerily deserted. However, the bartender was very friendly and the burgers were AMAZING! I will stop again on my next drive through!
Being a local, there isn’t much for food around here. H&H has historically had some good burgers, but this last one was just okay. Very little fries, so if you want some you should order a side of them. This last burger just had a huge patty, with the fixings. Bottom bun got soggy, it was to go.
Best place, been stopping here since late 70s. Worth the stop, best bread pudding desert with ice cream, serves 2. Good coffee and excellent service. Beautiful lake views while you eat your meal. Beautiful log place, worth the stop..
