Restaurant bewertenI used to frequent this restaurant often before the pandemic. The broth was always delicious and I enjoyed a large bowl of pho. When I visited recently under its new name, the staff seemed more focused on takeout and I felt somewhat neglected as a dine-in customer. I ordered my usual pho and waited quietly until it was served. The portion size had noticeably decreased - the same large bowl now only filled halfway. Despite this, the broth was still tasty. I couldn't help but wonder why I was receiving less food for the same price. With some adjustments, this restaurant could easily return to its pleasant atmosphere from before.
I tried the pho bò đac and the chicken and vegetable dishes and they were delicious! The restaurant is quite small with only about 6 tables, but it is clean and well-maintained, including the bathroom. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow as there was only one older man taking orders, serving the food, and handling the cash register. However, he was efficient and polite. Overall, I would definitely eat here again.
I did not purchase food from this restaurant, but stopped in to ask for a napkin. I ordered food to go and chose to eat it by the train station, as I was excited for the opportunity to try halal Vietnamese cuisine. While eating near the restaurant, I realized I had forgotten a napkin and thought I could quickly grab one from the restaurant. Upon entering, I was greeted by an older man whom I asked for a napkin. He rudely told me to go somewhere else, but I persisted, explaining that I just needed one napkin. He continued to insist that I leave and questioned where I had purchased my food multiple times. Ignoring him, I returned to my table to eat. The man followed me, stared at me and my wife, and then went back inside. He repeated this behavior at the restaurant window before coming back out to stare at us a few more times. It was clear that this type of behavior was likely contributing to the restaurant's lack of customers.
I had the egg rolls, tom yum chicken soup, a ham band mi and hot some jasmine tea. the egg rolls were perfectly cooked! the outside was crispy and tasty, not too much coating, and the sauce on the side was the perfect compliment. the tom kha chicken soup had a beautiful acidic taste, not too sour, but just right. but it was incredibly salty and the huh had a strange chewing taste. the saltiness made it immeasurable for me, I had a few bites and left the rest. the bahn mi was amazing! the baguette was just the correct amount of crunchy, not too hard, not too soft. the plucked vegetables and soned made it full of taste. my only degree would be that the sauce on the half of the sandwich was heavy, and very light on the other side, so needed a little more for the half of the sandwich. the jasmintee was naturally delicious and hot. the price was especially great for the Georgetown region. bahn mi was $7, suppe was $7 and egg rolls were $5 I think. overall I would come back and look forward to trying the pho and maybe the chicken run next time.
