Restaurant de la Forêt - Val de Moder

Like so many other TA reviewers of Restaurant de la Foret I can find little fault with this small village restaurant near almost no where but worth a stop if you find yourself hungry and in the vicinity. A warm welcome from Madame greeted us. We had our choice of tables for a Saturday lunch which we find odd as many restaurants are open but lightly patronized at this time of day. Can 't explain why. We both ordered the seasonal terrine which was meaty and delicious despite being fridge cold. The accompaniments we perfect. An order of Rognons de Veau was pronounced 'parfait '. The kidneys finely sliced and lightly sauteed with a port reduction. The rump steak was the seasonal specialty and arrived as ordered. Despite reservations the creme brulee would be fridge cold like the terrine, we forged ahead and ordered it anyway. Surprise was in store as it was perfectly room temp with a crisp caramelized crust. The second dessert was the specialty: chocolate cake with orange and a small ball of hazel nut ice cream. Sadly we could only order one bottle, Savigny Remoissenet 2012, from the superb wine list. It was delicious and perfect with our meal. Restaurant de lad Foret is well worth even a long detour.

If the outside of the restaurant doesn't really pay a mine, don't hesitate to cross the doors of this excellent restaurant. the service is very good, the dishes are very well made and arrive in well-hot plates - with always a small extra sauce !Many creativity and a rather mastered addition : in short an excellent address !

Eating regularly in this restaurant you can say that it is a safe value. very good table and the service is also at the height. this restaurant can be compared to good Strasbourg tables.

Here is the second time we visit this restaurant with pleasure and everything was good, well presented tasty dishes, the service is impeccable, courteous and friendly. We'll come back without problems in this good and beautiful house.

We were about thirty friends for a very simple meal after hunting. The service was perfect and we missed nothing! everything came without asking (pain, drinks, dish,...) definitely bravo.the decor is very pleasant and the perfect dish. I've done it again. ..
