Restaurant bewertenMeat. We were hoping to get pretty damn good meat given it 's a butcher shop. Alas... No. We had too high expectations. We got excited because we loved the New York style ambiance. Ordered Cerveza and the Berry Beer Infused drink which was yummy but so little beer taste. It was so-so. We arrived as walk ins on a Friday night so it was no surprise that the place was packed. We were informed that the only table available was for 5 when we were 6. So they suggested the bar. That was fine but then we see 2 people seated in a 5 seater table and 3 people in another 5 seater table. Why??! We were also informed that all the seats upstairs were reserved. So we waited. Fortunately the manager Flora had a table formed for us. Thank goodness for her. I tried the Best F pork and beans. Pretty damn good beans. Dry pork chop. For 200+ i guess pwede na. Then the other dishes arrived... Rib eye steak, tenderloin steak, pork belly, sausage platter.. ALL an epic disappointment. Waiters didn 't even ask how we wanted our meat done. They arrived all well done. Couldn 't do anything about it I guess cuz they never asked. Sauerkraut with the sausage platter was cut too coursely. It was too sweet. Utter disappointment. The pork belly supposedly had teriyaki flavor but nope... No hint of it whatsoever. Porkchops were damn dry too. In addition to these, the dishes kept coming in trickles when we all ordered at the same time. Maybe they couldn 't handle the crowd too well?? Sayang. Meat, especially from a place called Butcher Shop , should be served and hailed in all its glory. Bottomline is... We tried this place once and it 's a long shot there 's going to be a second time.
August 15, 2015 1:55PM I ordered for the beef tenderloin steak and I asked for it to be cooked medium rare. I sliced through it immediately upon getting my order on the table. The meat was raw. Not even rare RAW. You know when the meat inside is still shiny and brown and not pink. I asked our server to send it back to the kitchen because I ordered medium rare. And the cook/chef argued for it to be sent back to our table because it was medium rare for her. I asked for it to be cooked a little more.. They served the meat well done. Right after, the cook stormed out of the restaurant. Maybe she was annoyed or something but she should probably not cook because she seems to hate it.
We went there for a late lunch on weekend. Quite fortunate that the 2nd floor which I think is a smoking area doesn't have guests during that time so we have the place to ourselves. I liked the pork chop and beans , the chicken barbecue and the pork served with pesto pasta that we shared . There is a huge cooler filled with several types of beers and what a perfect way to partner our meals with. The ambiance is nice, somewhat a typical American , and the service was very attentive . I liked the patience of the staff when we are having a tough time getting our orders right.
The place is okay for drinking but not for your dining pleasures. Foods (sisig, sausages, etc. are average , smokey environment. my great expectations turned into great disappointment.
I visited this restaurant with a friend who told me that they serve the best Pinot Noir around. And she was absolutely right! The location was great, and the bar was ideal for couples or friends looking to enjoy a drink and chat while listening to the live band. I will definitely be returning!
