Restaurant bewertenAtmosphere artsy bangin'. Live DJ on Saturdays. Staff friendly kind. First time or not a vegan? I'd recommend the degustation. You will leave full no worries there. Standouts were the desserts best peach cobbler I've ever tasted.. put this beside traditional cream and butter peach cobbler the Alibi still wins hands down. The flavour in the key lime pie strong the texture is perfect it just melts on your tongue ?. I left thinking I must come back for their high tea. Deserts are definitely Alibi's Forte.
The food we had was unlike any I've ever had before. It was just exquisite! Everything tasted fresh, was filling, and the flavours were perfect. I was surprised each time a new dish came out, my expectations were getting blown out of the water, even with the cocktails! Really, this is art for the mouth. The service was also excellent, we never had to wait long for anything. My partner and I had a wonderful dinner here. Thank you Alibi! We shared everything and started with the zucchini flowers (wow and kimchi dumplings (also wow and for mains we had the zucchini lasagna (what the hell wow and the gnocci (wowsers And as a treat, we had the chocolate cherry fondue (yum We were certainly full afterwards but still felt fresh, which is no small feat, I believe. 11 out of 10!
Set inside the gorgeous and chic Ovolo Hotel, Alibi will wow you. From the stunning ambience, to the awesome, friendly and very knowledgeable staff through to the dishes and cocktails I’ve loved every single dish and beverage I’ve had at Alibi. The seasonal ingredients used are just divine and the menu changes regularly so there’s always something new and exciting to try. The Kim Chi dumplings are a must, they’re bursting with flavour and just delish! I’d also recommend the tasting menus as they’re great value for the amount of amazing quality food you get and you get to sample a decent amount of what’s on offer. Alibi is easily my favourite place to eat in Sydney.
We were here twice at the bar and then at the restaurant. ambiance is super stylish, located in ovolo, a boutique hotel in a converted warehouse. Bar food has more fake meat and omnivore “anti-vegan” friendly options and restaurant is more classic plant-based food. our favorites at the bar were the peking D**ck pfannkuchen and the bbq bao rolls, both with jackfruit as “meat”. delicious and quite close to the real thing. in the restaurant we loved the aubergine dishes (incense baked and filled aubergines). kimchi dumplings and squash flowers were very good. I had great hopes for the mushroom wellington, but found it disappointing. for dessert the chocolate cherry fond was delicious (not as pleasant as I expected, but still rich and with a deep chocolate flavor, not excessively sweet). the service was attentive and agile. note that if they do not get the tasting menu, all the entrees come at once, all main dishes come at once. I'd rather do it better, maybe something they could ask when they order. strongly recommended for any plant based or curious.
Really quirky cocktails and amazing staff. great place to visit for a pre-dinner drink
