Evening Star Hotel - Surry Hills

Quieter old-school pub compared to some around here but friendly enough with small tables outside. Reasonable drink range, not the most expensive but could be a bit cheaper.

Friendly staff, great drinks, food and prices, good atmosphere and a great place to chill or play some pool. It is all round a winner.

Having worked in Surry Hills for over 18 years, I have visited most of the 26 in the suburb. The Evening Star is now one of the best. Excellent food at very reasonable prices plus jugs of beer at $16, the staff, mainly Thai girls are friendly efficient and helpful. Forget the neg reviews to date. Things have changed.

A smallish style pub that would appear to not be all that busy. Easy to grab a cold beer at the bar, plenty of TV's to watch sport on if you like, and easy to grab a bite to eat at the newly renovated food area. Reasonably priced as well. Just a very short walk from Central Railway Station as well, this place is worth a try if you are in the area..
