Restaurant bewertenWe travel to Quebec every summer, and we have found Cora in several cities. They are consistently clean and friendly. The food is good and inexpensive. Therefore, we will always stop by.
We had breakfast here and I changed my potatoes for extra fruit. After eating my eggs and then going to the fruit I discovered there was mold on my fruit (both on the grapes and on the melon). I was disgusted. The restaurant only compensated me for the price of the extra fruit. I will never eat at another Cora again.
This restaurant is fine if you are going for breakfast but do not go if you are expecting to order lunch. The menu is very limited in this area and I have to say it is one of the worst lunches I have ever had. I would say the worst but the soup that came before my meal was fine. I ordered the club sandwich which came on greasy fried bread and was accompanied by a somewhat wilted green salad which was served with a tasteless balsamic vinaigrette. The service I received was no more than acceptable. The only real positive thing I have to say about this experience was that my table was bathed in sunshine with a beautiful view on the river. Not worth my $20 plus tip!
If you like fruit with your breakfast or lunch, this is the place for you. All plates are tastefully served with generous quantities of fresh fruits. Serving sizes are generous and you can select a meal low on calories or a lumberjacks feast with fried eggs and several kinds of meat. Crepes and pancakes of many different kinds are popular. There is a tempting selection designed especially for children. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. It is open only for breakfast or brunch.
I don't normally review chain places but this was the first time we had tried a Cora so I thought I would share. We were also in Quebec for the first time so it has some additional nuances. We waited to be seated and when the hostess recognized that we spoke English she offered us English menus. That was nice because my 5 years of high school French had long gone away. Our server also spoke English. A big selection of breakfast items. We both had the 2 egg and 2 bacon breakfast. It came with toast and potatoes and 3 kinds of fruit. There was lots to eat. It appeared that the coffee was included in the breakfast, at least it wasn't on the bill. They claimed that 2 strips of their bacon equalled 5 of others. That was possibly true but there was a fair amount of fat on the bacon. But it was a very good breakfast and lots of it. I believe they have a lunch menu as well. But we wanted breakfast and it was 12:30 We would try a Cora's again
