Simpático bistrot localizado no bairro Montmartre.
This restaurant was about 50 meters up the road from our hotel, and having read the reviews, my daughter and I decided to give it a go for dinner on our first evening in Paris.at first I wasn't sure it was even the right place, but in further checking, it was. At 9pm on a Friday evening, there was one other diner. Several others came in during our visit. The lighting was a harsh white, the tables very basic. The barman / waiter (or possibly owner) greeted us warmly and showed us to a seat. he served us politely and in a friendly manner throughout, but in between serving us returned to the bar where he was evidently playing a game on his mobile phone, which clicked loudly throughout. We ordered a starter each - I had the "homemade" foie gras pate, which was most definitely not home-made - it was OK, but clearly just a slice of pate from a bloc of bought pate - not very tasty and not very interesting. My daughter had mozzarella and tomato, which was OK - difficult to do it badly! For the main courses, my daughter had spaghetti Bolognaise, which was particularly poor - it was completely tasteless, no flavor or taste could be distinguished at all. I had veal with a cream and mushroom sauce (the sauce was very pleasant) and pomme frite, which were equally tasteless and uninteresting. I'm not sure how you make fries tasteless, but they succeeded.Interesting that one or two people seem to have different views of this restaurant or are they actually views of a different restaurant? One reviewer said they had a nice terrace (there is actually no terrace at all, it faces onto a narrow sidewalk) and another said it was near Pigalle Metro - it is not, its about 75 meters from Blanche metro. So whilst there was very little WRONG with this restaurant, there was nothing of any interest at all to a visitor to Paris - there are hundreds and hundreds of better Bisto's than this.
