A beautiful hotel in the mountains, centrally located to visit the interior and travel to the eastern coast! The rooms were spacious and clean, and we could see and hear the river we got the spacious family suites for plenty of room. The grounds were large and lovely, the private spa (jacuzzi, sauna, hammam) was great, and the restaurant where we ate all three nights of our stay was fantastic. In particular, the chef enhanced our extended stay with a series of exceptional creations on the 3rd night that rivaled the fancy restaurants of the larger cities. Bravo!
Beautiful location not far from Corte next to a river (you can hear the appeasing sound of the river from your room).. however, couple of shortcomings. First, at our arrival we are not informed about the breakfast (which is not included and cost 20 euros per person) and the first day went to look for a ‘croissant’ not being aware of the breakfast available.. Second, we ate at the restaurant in the evening which was not a great experience, we ended waiting more than 1 hour for a main course with the fish being served in a quite a small portion (for the price of 27 euros), the meals were ok but quite expensive with limited selectrion…The next day, it rained the whole day (not their fault of course) but they only had 1 umbrella seems to be (was gone when we asked for one).. the following day, we had breakfast… which was nice .. we were three people and they charge us for 4.. in general, you have to checked everything in Corsica not to be overcharged.. the room was nice, with the family we had 2 inter-connected room.. there is a nice pool (which is heated) and overall a nice atmosphere.. however, the staff was polite but not overly welcoming, a bit ‘nonchalant’
This is a hotel that will cause arguments. I really liked it as did my husband but others in our party didn’t like it at all. The situation is lovely, very peaceful with only the sound of the river at the foot of the grounds. There are extensive gardens but they are not really hardened, just left fairly wild except for grass immediately around the property. There are modern artworks in the grounds and some unusual artwork in the hotel itself. The food is probably what split opinions the most. Cooking is modern with unusual sauces etc. at dinner. I thought it was a real treat but anyone preferring plain food will not be happy. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Our room was on the same level as reception and was perfectly good. Some others in our party were on a lower lever and felt the room was cramped (this was a single room). Friendly staff with good English and (I think) able to converse well in Italian and German too.
Mountain panorama with a difference! We are not hikers! However, we also like to look at the mountain panorama. At the Hotel E Caselle this also works very well in the spa area. Because from here you have a great view of the mountains without any effort. The best thing about it is that you can reserve the entire spa area for yourself. It doesn’t matter whether you use the hammam, sauna or just the jacuzzi. You are on your own for the time you have booked and can really relax. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were very friendly and also spoke English (rare in the Corsican mountains). I can recommend the homemade gnocchi in the restaurant. These are served in a hot pan together with vegetables and a delicious sauce. Bon appetite
