Restaurant bewertenWhen you first arrive at the restaurant, it may not look open until you reach the parking lot. This could be due to the dated appearance of the building. The staff members were welcoming and attentive. Although I would have liked the chili cheese dog to be bigger, it was still tasty. The portion of fries was surprisingly generous, and the cheeseburger was decent for a hot dog joint. With a diverse menu selection, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The guy at the register was really nice and HAPPY to receive my money,, the cook in the back looked a bit like a con 'man 'cook ,maybe because he knows darn well that aint no Chitown dog,, chicago dogs are vienna ALL BEEF bro !!!these are some pork/chicken mystery-meat dogs.i am born raised in the Chi,, southside,, Englewood,,,i am from the Jewtown Polish Era,, so please dont try to trick me with these bootleg chicago dogs sir !!!i have some advise,,go ahead and spend a few more dollars coppthe real Vienna Beef dogs,, and watch your profits go through the roof Playa !!!sincerely,-Windycity Playa
This place is so cute! If you haven't been, must go. Tropical sno cones are so good and big.
This restaurant is a great spot to grab a hotdog, especially if you enjoy chili. I suggest that if you want a chili dog with no cheese, make sure to specify that when ordering as it may come with cheese by default. The parking lot is usually empty, providing plenty of parking options. The staff are friendly and accommodating, making it a suitable place for families with children. The building is wheelchair accessible with no stairs to enter, but there is a slight downward slope in the parking lot to be cautious of.
Ate hot dogs here. Now, I'm from the Chicagoland area, have eaten so many hot dogs that I could turn into a Vienna Beef Dog. So....that said....in all my 40+ years of grown up there, I AIN'T NEVER SEEN A WHITE DOG!They are Beef hot dogs (skins or not, depends on the place but always a Vienna Beef Hot Dog), they look a reddish brown, not like a Wisconsin Weisswurst. They are topped with celery salt, a Sport pepper, a refrigerated pickle 1/8 is a must, mustard, dill relish (depends on where ya go), 2 slices of tomato (thin sliced and roma commonly used), cucumber slice (depends on where ya go) and onions (diced), all on that poppy bun (easy steamed), dogs are in a hot water bath with a heated consistency, not cold like the white one I had was. Aka, a dog and drag it thru the garden. So many authentic things are a miss, so I didn't get any other sandwiches. The fries, every dog in Chicago served with fries is wrapped up with the dog in the wax sheet, they taste better, guess it keeps them hot and soft like the fries are supposed to, shoestring/thin sliced type fries. Fries here are in a bag, done 30 minutes before the dogs are served.Just not like home here!If I want a dog from home, Ill drive 4 hours north to get 1....or order a box for delivery online from one of the popular dog places.
