Restaurant bewertenClosed is now, I was told The owner/chef wanted to retire. This is now The Vault and from reviews I would say it's the place to be in Morwell at the moment!
A nice cosy little eatery with great homecooked meals. Worth a visit. I had silverside roast with veg and it took me back to good ol mums sunday roast.
We had a family dinner here and once again they exceeded expectation. A set menu was chosen prior to which gave everyone a choice of 3 entrees, 4 mains and 3 desserts. It was also priced under $60 for the 3 dishes which was exceptional for what we received. We had gnocchi, garlic prawns, soup, lamb, chicken in filo, fish, pork and the desserts were lovely with the most popular being the meringue. The owners do a wonderful job and sometimes they are under pressure when it gets really busy which shows a little. But the food does not suffer. Will definitely be back for another family get together.
An part from the uncomfortable, seats the Garlic Prawns are to die for their burgers are great but need more staff gets busy sometimes at lunch
I had the soup with mussels, fish and prawns. The prawns still had the shells on them and one of the mussels was clearly bad, as it tasted awful. There was only about 6 prawns in the soup and about 6 mussels. The soup also contained some chopped up fish. The soup had bits of mussel shell floating in it, which I had to continuously spit out. This was very unpleasant. This dish cost $35. No bread was served on the table with the soup. It was not worth $15, let alone $35. I would not recommend this dish. Also, I was sick after the meal, so I suspect that the mussel that tasted bad, was the cause. The desserts are very expensive at $14.50 each and the portion size very small. I had an ice cream slice which was decorated with fairy floss and strawberry liquid. It did not taste very nice. So, my conclusion is that this is a very overpriced restaurant serving a mussel, fish and prawn dish, which is well below standard. I left the restaurant feeling hungry and had to eat again when I arrived back home.
