Restaurant bewertenQuick and attentive service despite a busy Saturday morning crowd. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Enjoy!
The first time my mom and I visited the Cubby Hole, we had a nice experience. I don't really remember the food, but my mom's coffee was made to perfection. Today, I was really put off by the hostess. Despite the line of people waiting, she ran around wiping down tables without excusing herself or even looking at the line of people patiently waiting. When she returned, there was no greeting. She looked annoyed and stressed out. She seems quite young and inexperienced, but I'm surprised she wasn't trained to be welcoming considering her position as hostess. With the multitude of dining options, why would anyone choose to go somewhere you feel unwanted from the onset? I'll go to Turning Point instead where the service is far superior.
Easily some of the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Service is just a little slow. Our server took a while to take our order but the food was outstanding and we will definitely be back Update: Today was me and my husband’s 3rd time here and we drove over 30 minutes for breakfast that left more to be desired. We basically order the same thing every time we go, and today it really fell short. He really had a taste for the spicy avocado toast, which is usually fantastic. Today there was barely any hot honey on the toast and the avocado was completely rubbery. My banana walnut pancakes came out really overdone. When they brought out the new order of pancakes, they were better but when I started to spread around the whipped substance that I thought was butter- I realized it was actually whipped cream and when I told the server I am lactose intolerant, she said “oh”. She brought out some butter but that was the complete wrong response. This is our second time having her as a server and we haven’t been a fan of her service either time. She rushes when taking our order and isn’t very accommodating. The young lady who brought out the food was really nice though, that’s who got me the new order of pancakes. The bacon was really tough and we could barely bite into it. Also, this is the second time we’ve sat in the back room where you can see into the kitchen and my husband has noticed something unsanitary done by the kitchen staff both times. The first time, the male cook had his apron/stomach touching the food and today the person making the eggs wiped someone’s omelette plate with the same rag she was wiping the dirty counter with. Overall, we loved cubby hole the first couple times but after today I don’t think we will be returning
Update: TCH is officially my favorite breakfast spot in this area. Came here for brunch on my birthday and to my delight, they had FUNFETTI pancakes on the menu. My inner child could not have been happier, but then on top of that a lovely crew came out with a birthday treat and candle singing the birthday song. It was just perfect and everything was absolutely delicious! Original Review: First time here and I literally gasped when I looked inside of my takeout container. The bananas Foster French toast looked amazing and tasted even better. Josephine who greeted me at the front had such vibrant and uplifting energy. She made my day and then the food was great on top of that. I'll definitely be back. I saw other reviews mentioned away and there was no wait for me on a Tuesday morning, but even if there was, the food was worth it!
In the area for a doctor's appointment this morning and were looking for a good breakfast spot with outdoor dining that was dog friendly. The Cubby Hole looked great based on my Google search. It was perfect! Beautiful morning to enjoy outdoor dining. The food and service were excellent. My wife had the lemon/blueberry pancakes with a side of two eggs and I ordered an omelette with tomatoes, spinach, onions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese along with a side of bacon. Everything was delicious, service was and we even got a bowl of water for our pup. We haven't been to this part of town before so we went for a nice stroll downtown after breakfast to enjoy the beautiful historic homes.
