Restaurant bewertenVisited with a group of friends to this small but busy restaurant on a Sunday night. I chose a Bento box with tempura. It came with choice of green salad or potato salad. Unfortunately they served the incorrect salad. Also chawan mushi was included but not served to another member who ordered the same. The tempura was quite oily and unpleasant. Although the serves were generous and reasonably priced I won't.be. returning .
Ordered takeaway, informed it was a 20 min wait. Arrived to pick up our order. Waited for 45 mins from ordering, to then be informed they had Inadvertently given our order to someone else. Offered to cook our order again....didn’t fab Nah waiting a further 20-30 mins so left empty handed, hungry and very unhappy. Complete shambles, will find our Japanese fix elsewhere.
My friend and I dined here for lunch today. We ordered the Ox Tongue and the Beef Sukiyaki Bento box. Both were dry, and almost inedible. The beef appeared to have been cooked a long time ago, and was not fresh at all. The Bento box came with Miso soup, but they forgot to bring it. The Ox Tongue came on its own, without rice, which was extra. Very disappointed. What a waste of money.
Have not been there for a while be cause the last experience was poor. Now i remember why we didnt return. At around 50$ a head i may as well put $50 notes in the shredder. Tempura batter was rubbery not crisp and vegies undercooked. Agadashi had a tasteless sauce. No benito flakes. Service distracted. Back to momoya better value
This restaurant is one that we frequent because it’s pretty local to us. The last couple of visits have been underwhelming. We decided to give it one more go. Not sure what the difference had been but it’s deteriorated. Change of staff?? Change of management.? Whatever it is it hasn’t worked. Took ages for our order to be taken then we got our main followed by overcooked starters that came in dribs n drabs til we got a crab claw last. Standard has gone downhill and the busyness of the kitchen for take away and Uber is reflected in the service and quality. Unfortunately this seems to be occurring in a lot of restaurants the grab for the dollar is mightier than creating a good experience. For the In House restaurant diners the experience is further diluted by the crowds of helmeted Uber delivery guys and takeaway collectors all spilling into the restaurant standing round waiting. Nothing worse than having people over your shoulder while you’re eating. Off to zen to see if they’ll be our new fave Japanese.
