Restaurant bewertenA breath of fresh air just on the edge of the old town - we were in the bright airy upstairs room - service was friendly and efficient - all the food was great and well presented - the bill was reasonable by Lyon standards - would certainly return and will recommend to friends
Having enjoyed several high brow gourmet meals in Lyon, we wanted something simple and not too heavy, but not one of the touristy bouchons. We came across this small restaurant on the edge of the old town and popped in. Initially the waiter said they were "complet" but fortunately as we turned to go out, his colleague said there had been a cancellation, so they quickly rearranged a table. Nice local infusion aperitif. The menu choice here is simple, but excellent, modern flavours with great ingredients. I had a slow cooked egg in a veloute of white asparagus to start which was delicious. Good wine list with some nice Rhone wines reasonably priced. This is an excellent little restaurant which does a modern take on Lyonnais cuisine. A really welcome change from some of the heavier Lyonnais food, but suggest you book as it's popular!
Ignore the negative reviews. We ate a three course 32e lunch today which was absolutely delicious, accompanied by a wonderful bottle of wine. The staff are really friendly, good English is spoken, the room is nicely furnished and decorated, the flavours and aromas of the food were superb. And there was enough of it. The atmosphere is laid-back and families are welcome. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Go before it gets its Michelin star/while it's still affordable.Paul
We just returned from a lovely dinner. We had the 28€ menu (entree, plat and dessert) great value as portion were generous particularly the Filet de Julienne. The presentation of both the entrees (Veloute chaud de betterave and raviole d'escargots) was outstanding as was the dessert (Finger chocolat and pudding patate douce) presentation. Service was speedy, friendly, very good English spoken. Be sure to make a reservation as they are often full.
Lyon is abound with amazing little Bouchons and in the three days we were in Lyon we ate some amazing food at little places in Vieux Lyon for almost nothing.Cinq Mains was recommended by our Hostess and it was almost on our doorstop. It was a set menu of 28Euros for mains and dessert with a choice of three for each.We both chose a lamb mains which was very good. Presentation was fabulous. The desserts were also very good. A good bottle of Rose was about 19Euro.All in all a very pleasant experience.
