Restaurant bewertenMy family and I went to the Anchor Inn to grab dinner one night and I have to say that we were very disappointed in their food. We've been there in the past and have always enjoyed their food; their taste and their presentation etc. I had the smoke ribs and they were not good at all. First off, they were dry and i I know that smoked ribs tend to be drier but this was ridiculous. They were so dry that it felt like I was biting into a bone at every bite. They even looked dry. They almost looked like they had been sitting under a heat thing for a long time. I wondered if it was because they had left overs and were keeping them hot under a lamp? I wondered if I was just being fussy but my husband tried it and he agreed that they were really really dry, Another person had the chicken parmesan and the presentation of it was not that of a restaurant. Again, it appeared dry and really crusty with very little sauce and it did not taste all that great. The pasta that came with it looked like noodles out of can. The sauce was not even good. It tasted like a tomato sauce you would find in a can of zoodles. I do have to say one other person did enjoy their chicken wrap. It had a nice presentation and good taste. We then found out that there was a new owner but I was surprised to find out that the owner was a long time employee of the Anchor Inn and upon going to research this on line I read that the owner was going to keep everything the same and not change menu etc.... I don't know what happened but it certainly was not the same experience that we had in the last few years. I hope it gets better otherwise, we will not be going back. Unfortunately we have friends that visit yearly and wanted to go there next weekend. I don't think we will be going back anytime soon. I do however would like to try this again maybe at a later time. It is my hope that things will settle and improve.
This place is by far my families favourite place to eat at when visiting Manitoulin. While there was a wait list, the staff was very friendly and organized ensuring everyone was sat in an orderly fashion. My kids menu has a variety of options...even different pastas!! My husband and I each tried the whitefish and trout dinners and both were fantastic, fresh products, great vegetables...add that to the friendly atmosphere and this place is amazing!
The anchor is our go to place to eat, whenever we are feeling the need to eat out. Alot of variety for any liking. Bacon dip and nachos are our favourite on the menu as apps. The pastas on both the menu and specials each night are delicious and filling.Always friendly staff and very welcoming!Keep up the great work at the Anchor!
Went there for the first time tonight. I had the whitefish dinner and it was amazing! My fiancé had the ribs, excellent as well! They were very busy which was fine with us because it gave us time to drink a beer while our meal was being prepared for us. If you want fast food then go to McDonalds. If you want excellent food, service and atmosphere then go to Anchor Inn. Love this place and will return next time we are in town!
We stop here every year and have enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner/ drinks. Service is excellent and the food is always amazing. The dining areas are clean and bright and the outdoor patio offers a gorgeous view of the town and water.
