Restaurant bewertenThis was the second place we tried in the Outer Banks that fit our Mexican food, allows dogs requirements. The first one wouldn't seat our party of 7 after we arrived in their outdoor section, so we had to find another option. It's been surprisingly difficult to find and they didn't even show up on our Bring Fido app as being dog friendly. But they have a great outdoor seating area that's fantastic for dogs and kids. The server was phenomenal! She was able to inquire with the chefs about our vegetarian and gluten free requirements and gave us some great options to choose from. The food and drinks were delicious. My margarita actually tasted like a margarita, as opposed to just pre-made mix. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!
This restaurant is a legend. They are the first Mexican restaurant in the Outer Banks and still owned by the same families. Most affordable and with delicious food. You can’t beat the margaritas! They run really good specials like the birria, octopus and shrimp ceviche and the Piña tapatia . We love everything here! We went to the other Mexican restaurants and they are more expensive while their food is just an imitation of what La Fogata does.
Highly recommend as the best, most legendary places in the OBX. Speedy fast service, delicious food and affordable prices. Original owners. Since the pandemic they have been struggling with staff but they do their very best ! Kitty Hawk location is the best !
Food was great, service was great and quick. Everything was hot and tasty. They had a giant 16 or 18 top that they were handling at the same time and you would not have known it. Very attentive server. Servings were ample and price was right.
Every time I come to the Outer Banks this is always on the list to attend at least once. Quality Mexican food for great price and amazing helpful staff in a cozy atmosphere. From year to year the food is consistently stunning and comforting. I highly recommend the Enchiladas Poblanas featuring their mole sauce, which although is hard to get right (I should know), they make it a culinary masterpiece. Five stars and a blessing.
