Restaurant bewertenThis little sushi spot is absolutely worth the trip. It's tiny, so make your reservation well in advance. We had the omakase with the sake pairing and it was some of the best sushi I have experienced, matched with amazing service. The couple that owns and runs this gem obviously puts their hearts into everything they do. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic small restaurant experience! Delicious sushi, could not have been fresher! Husband and Wife team were great, and opened up their favorite Sake to have us try! If you're in Kona, make a reservation and come here!
This place is amazing. I have eaten a lot of sushi, but never at such a personal place as this one. I ate here last April. This location only takes reservations, so be sure to call to make a reservation. There are only a few tables. When I went, there was three other parties. The place is ran by the sushi chef(Seiji? and his partner, I think. The lady serves you and takes your order. She will serve you throughout the night. The sushi will be brought out by the sushi chef. He will say a few words about each sushi roll. This type of service made me feel great and valued as a patron. The food itself is very authentic tasting. This place won’t coat the sushi with sweet or savory sauces. You won’t find “American-ized Sushi” here. Instead, the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The sushi is made to stand on its own. We ordered the poke bowl, the miso soup, a deep fried roll, and a few sushi rolls. The fish was fresh and very tasty. Overall, I recommend Seiji’s Sushi as your first stop in Kona for amazing authentic sushi.
The food here is AMAZING! I started with the Miso soup and cold house love. The wrong taste was the best I had. The Saki was the same with the Elch. The Sashmi was wonderful. Beautiful cuts and the accompanying vegetables paired beautiful. The Wasabi was very tasty and added to the tasteful experience. Next was the spicy tuna reel. The appearance of the role was artistic. The taste surpassed the appearance. Last was the spider roll. Once again, the appearance was an artwork. The taste and textures were a joy! The meal ended with strawberries whipped cream with a hint of chocolate sauce. This was a perfect end to a beautiful meal. The whole experience was wonderful! If you can get a reservation, take what they have available! If I'm Kona again, I'll come back!
I don't usually give 5 stars on my reviews, but I wish there's a 6 star rating that I can give Seiji. This is really a hidden GEM from the beaten path. We were so lucky we could book for the next night. The first time we turned away. So, people, make reservations carefully before you even leave the city. They only serve not more than 10 guests per evening, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30. So you really have the full cooking attention to create phenomenal sushi dining experience for you. I hardly eat raw seafood, but Seiji made it so amazingly delicious. Everything was so exquisitely prepared by him. The cooking menu is a must.
