Congri Cuban - Grayslake

Awesome Cuban food reasonably priced. BYOB. Great service and Lady chef/owner came out of the kitchen to check up on us and it was just fantastic. I had the Ox tail stew and my wife had the Cuban sandwich. Great rice and beans, naturally. Topped dinner off with Cuban coffee. All was perfect. Small, quaint, cozy and clean place.

Where do i start. What a gem. We actually googled this restaurant. I am so glad we did. If you like Cuban food this is the place. I fell in love with it. The food was awesome. Service was great. Loved the music...what can i say. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Well, had my 1st Cuban food at Key West last April 2018 and really loved it. So when I found out about Congri which is only a few miles from me, I got excited. I read the reviews and did see that they are a little pricey. I don't mind paying good money as long as the food is good. But, what a disappointment! It was nothing compared to what we had in Florida, I had the pork chops and it did not have any taste. My husband orderd a Cuban sandwich and it did not have any meat or anything. Paid over $35 for lunch for 2 people and it was just a big let down. So bottomline, that'll be the 1st and last visit for us.

The food here is excellent! Service was good. They allow BYOB. Can't wait to go back. The place is small, so it is best to make a reservation.

Skip the chain restaurants and try out this hidden gem! Great food and delightful people. Must try :
