Restaurant bewertenHad very high expectations after a well respected recommendation. we have at many high-end tasting restaurants that regularly return, including vue de monde, jacques reymond , attica, O.My, grossi florentino, to name some and wanted somewhere amazing for an intimate party of four celebrating our sons 21st. the service here in amaru was impeccable and we enjoyed the tuned wee and the somalian was knowledgeable and presented some delicious wee, including an incredible earthly delight. Maybe it was just this special menu, but if they pay close to $500 per person, they will certainly have high expectations as we certainly did. so much emphasis on an elaborate fixed for the eyes placed .immaculate presentation and an impressive list of ingredients and descriptions on the table, but sad and incredibly disappointing was the fact that taste was difficult in a series of oriented at the point of being quite bland and the experience was overall. now. noticeably underwhelming. in this menu there was not a “spectacular” dish. the next was a court that we added white truffle at $80 per person. it has increased this special course, but the rest, perhaps a desert, has not delivered a wow factor. a shame. many work in the kitchen, but to this occasion it has simply not reached any heights. on the basis of this experience I will doubt that we will return.
Rarely gets a restaurant it so right, eat, service without hire, wein and ambiente. highly recommended for a special occasion
For worth it is not there if they have a seafood allergy. the substitute dishes were different concoctions of mushroom and beet (in the rule 3 or 4 plates thereof). in view of the price justifying that I give more than 3 stars. for regular diners, perhaps the $250 pp is appropriate, but I honestly cannot say the same if there is a lack of protein substitute. I liked the mood of the place and the interactions with the chefs added to the experience. regarding the service personally, I was not too excited with the constant interruptions introduced due to a new bite, but I understand that this is how they do and should be part of the experience, but if they try to be a talk with others hard to focus when they interrupted all 5 to 10 minutes. Finally, my partner and I ended up with mild complaining throughout the night that we believe that on one of their home non-alcoholic drinks (the white chocolate one) could best to avoid this. I would come back, probably not.
Went here for the sensory menu, and it was delightful! The service was very attentive, and they do explain the menu to you on the table during service. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a place for a celebration or just to treat yourself to the experience.
Food was excellent, concept and open kitchen created a great atmosphere. For us, two stars dropped for a few reasons: I’m normally not one who cares for service, however the food and experience was eclipsed by one wait staff who was a bit insincere a lady in a suit who was a bit awkward to talk to. She asked questions like it was part of a script without much enthusiasm or interest, which made us feel a little uncomfortable. My partner doesn’t like sparkling water, so we normally order tap water when we eat out midway through the meal this staff member poured us sparkling water, however we just thought it was an honest mistake so didn’t say much about it.At the end of the meal we were charged $16 for sparkling water we didn’t order.Additionally, when it came time to pay, the number on the machine was correct, however after tapping the card, the number also increased to a further $8 above the previous price without any warning of surcharges.Everyone else (other wait staff and the amazing chefs) was excellent and very kind, and I’d normally be more than happy to pay a bit more tip for the experience and the amazing effort the staff put forward, however all we could think about and remember in the end is the hidden costs and charges. I know the amount probably a bit petty when dining in a restaurant like this, but the principle itself made us feel a bit uneasy. Not a place we really felt relaxed in in the end. Unfortunately won’t be coming back, but hope it was just a bad day for this staff member and that everyone else has a great experience.
