Restaurant bewertenWe had a carry out and it was poor. The mixed pakora was satisfactory but the other two chicken dishes were not up to the mark and certainly not near the standard of our own home made curries. The special chicken curry and the muglai korma were wanting. There was no depth to the flavours. The chicken lacked flavour in both dishes and the level of spice was low. The boiled rice and popadom were satisfactory. A redeeming feature was the speed of delivery.
This is my favorite takeout restaurant, and it's a bonus that it's only a 10-minute walk from where I live. I can't find any faults with the food they serve, it's amazing. I just wish that the pakora sauce came in larger containers.
First time was amazing, best I've ate in a long time, tandoori chicken so tender..... Last night I asked my friends to join me for a meal, I was left very disappointed, chicken dry, prawns small, and. Sauce like mud... I don't give second chances so won't be going back. I don't like giving bad reviews but when the waiter is very dry, and pours warm white wine and places the bottle on the table, had to ask for ice bucket for second bottle but was off the shelf so still warmish.....
My boyfriend and I used to frequent the restaurant/takeaway on Dumbarton Road, but have recently stopped going as often due to the lack of friendliness. We used to order our takeaway in the restaurant and enjoy a drink while chatting with the man taking our order. However, they now lock the restaurant and do not allow customers to wait inside or have drinks in the unlicensed takeaway. This was disappointing as we enjoyed the atmosphere and socializing while waiting for our food. Overall, the staff at Papa Gill's are not friendly and the food quality has declined. We will be going to The Ettrick in Old Kilpatrick instead, where we can enjoy great food in a warm and inviting environment. If you are looking for a friendly and enjoyable Indian takeaway experience, go to The Ettrick.
Easily the worst Indian meal I've ever had the misfortune to try to eat. Thoroughly disgusting and I'd have rather ate dog food.
