Restaurant bewertenWe made a reservation for brunch on Sunday at noon and had no trouble booking a table on the same day. When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling both inside and on the patio, so we opted to sit outside. The service was very friendly. The brunch menu featured small sharing plates, reminiscent of tapas. Although the restaurant recommended 2 plates per person, we shared 3 between the two of us and found it to be sufficient. We ordered the chicken and waffles, duck breast with egg and potatoes, and French toast. The chicken and waffles were served with sautéed corn and kale and hollandaise sauce. While tasty, there were a lot of different flavors competing with each other. The duck breast was cooked to medium but was slightly dry. It was accompanied by roasted carrot and bok choy, an egg, and potatoes. Lastly, the French toast was delicious, topped with chantilly cream and berries.
The patio has a fantastic atmosphere and the tapas are delicious and original! This is a must-visit spot in Aylmer during the summer!
The restaurant offers unique dishes at a reasonable price, but the dining room can get quite noisy during busy times. The outdoor service was inconsistent with long waits between courses. During our last visit, there was a 55-minute wait between our two courses. The staff can be a bit pretentious about their food and presentation.
I went here for our anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. We went on a weekday and it was pretty busy for a week day so I'm glad we made reservations. The restaurant itself looks like a house from the outside and there is some parking in the back. The inside of the restaurant is very cosy and homey. The atmosphere was very chill and had cool vibes. On the menu they have a bunch of tapas, larger tapas, oysters, deserts. But they also have a 3 (1 tapa, 1 main, dessert) and 5 (3 tapas, main, dessert) course discovery menu. The tapas change weekly and there are some specials. We shared the arctic char ceviche, oysters, and the 3 course menu each. By the end of it we were very satisfied and full. The ceviche was really good. Oysters were from New Brunswick and also great! Our discovery menu tapa was shrimp ceviche and shrimp tempura. It was one of the best cooked shrimp tempura I've had. The main course was a beef shoulder and wild boar ravioli with a bunch of sides. The ravioli was amazing. I've had nothing like it before. I could not get enough of it. The dessert was a cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing and Italian moraine and berries with a shirt bread on the side. Again, amazing. All the flavours in each meal went so well together. The service from start to finish of our meal was outstanding. The servers were very nice and knowledgeable about the food and explained everything about the meals. It was on the pricy side but personally I think it was worth it. The alcohol was comparable price to other places and they had a wide variety of wines. I would highly recommend going here!
Exceptional Sunday brunch. Leaves me wondering how fabulous dinner might be. First, we had bubbles, and shared all four breakfast tapas, and then we ordered lattes and one of the two main course breakfast dishes--everything was beautifully presented and succulent. The mix of flavours is surprising and so very pleasant. I'm already looking forward to discovering what else they offer. Decor and service were also pleasant. Huge thumbs up from this local Aylmer resident who has always felt let down by the restaurant offer in our area.
