Coastal Flats - Gaithersburg

I had a great lunch here. The Mahi Mahi was fresh and full of taste. The atmosphere was alive. The service was directly targeted. I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

5 stars for the food, 3 stars for the service. Fish (Salmon and Grouper) and Crab Cakes were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Sides were also good. We called ahead (they don't take reservations wish they did) and had about a 20 minute wait. Only downside was service after we got our food, the server did not come back and i wanted another drink.

We received a very joyful greeting and were quickly seated. Our server, like all the others, was in a clean and well pressed uniform. She never provided her name. She made some nice suggestions, yet neglected to ask if we had any preferences or foods we avoid. The dining area was very clean and well-maintained. The way the tables were separated reminded us of an office space with low dividers. In addition to some free bread, we enjoyed the Crab Ceviche with Avocado appetizer, along with the Lobster Cobb Salad and the Brunch Burger. Everything was presented well, nicely seasoned and well prepared; served in a timely manner. I was expecting higher quality ingredients and unique flavor profiles, especially for the price point and the name of the restaurant. Everything was fresh, yet somewhat generic unfortunately. The burger had generic processed American cheese on it for example. The bacon was excellent, a generous crispy and flavorful portion, just no pizzazz to it. The salad did not have any distinct ingredients, the dressing was acceptable but not something different. The cold lobster salad mixture was a safe generic recipe. I did not come here looking for safe generic diner food. My reviews are very lenient and in general proportional to expectations. My expectations for a unique dining experience were not met here. I do not feel that I received a good value for the price.

Literally nothing bad to say about this spot. Christina was an amazing server. So personable and held down all of her tables effortlessly. The food was bomb (as usual) and the sweet tea is my fave non-alcoholic drink but the cocktail menu is too! Highly recommend and on a nice day outside area is the best!

The food was good , we requested that our food come early we were so hungry. The manager and the server were really thoughtful, our food came relatively fast and the bread came really fast.
