Ty Te Caerdydd - Gaiman

Since we have not come to this particular part of the world, we have used the opportunity to visit this tea place. As you come there, the plots are immaculate and there is a feeling to be in a place that is very annoying. The place is expensive and it is based on a fixed price per person with children (under 5, I believe) free for tea. They serve a set menu like it or not. The tea itself was very good and most of the cakes were delicious, but then all the cakes in Argentina are delicious, its hard to get bad. Was it worth it money wisely not, but the lands and buildings are in impeccable form. For me it was a visit, and that's it.

Unless you are very interested in Princess Diana, moderate baking and unfriendly service this is not the place for you. The site was nice, but you can definitely find pastries in any bakery in Argentina that were better than what we were serving. The only pros of our visit were the beautiful terrain and soft toilet paper.

There's a strong Welsh heritage in Chubut Argentina and as a result, gems like this exist. The grounds are beautiful of Ty Té and this was also the place a famous Princess of Wales came in the 1990s! Loved the tea here and definitely recommend it as a stop over during your travels through Chubut.

This place is on the other side of the river and farther away. Nice gardens but the interior is gaudy and overdone and kitsch in a not-so-good way. The only redeeming quality is that Princess Di was here and you can see the chair in which she sat, her china set, and her actual tea cup, spoon, and the remainder of the tea left in her kettle when she left. The decor is terrible and it's got an indoor fountain so maybe that's why it smells too perfumed (to cover must smell? . Skip it unless you're a die hard Diana fan. The china you get doesn't have the establishment's name on it and they don't have real napkins-just paper. Maybe too many people tried to steal items?

There are many Welsh tea houses to enjoy while in the Gaiman Trelew area. But the one that stands out is the ' Casa Gales De Te Ty Te Caerdydd '. This tea house is tucked away on a dirt road. But, when you arrive, you will swept away with the beauty and ambience of the English style gardens that adorn this Welsh tea house. This is the tea house that Princess Diana visited in the 90 's. You will find her photo along with the host of the house in the lobby area. Oh, yes you will do a double take when he greets you. He is quite handsome and yes he is the one at the side of Princess Diana in the lobby photo on the entry way table. From the lobby area you will be escorted to your table to enjoy unlimited tea and coffee cakes. There are many varieties, so come with a hearty appetite! They are all delicious and I can not say if one is better than the other. We could not finish all these delicious cakes so we had to take doggie bag with us. There is also a gift shop where you can get a souvenir of your experience. The cost at the time if this writing is $100 pesos per person. That is about $20 USD. This is a must see if you travel to this area.
