Restaurant bewertenVery disappointing visit to Le Coin Francais. Staff were very nice and engaging, but incredibly slow service. After an hour at the restaurant, we only had one small glass of wine (we did the wine pairings) and a starter course. When the food eventually did come, it was a huge disappointment. The flavors were bland, uninventive, and just didn’t mesh well together. The food just wasn’t good. At this price point, you really expect better. Based on some of the other recent reviews, it seems there has been some turnover in the kitchen. Unless that changes, I’d look elsewhere. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
Fantastic experience food is amazing staff are fantastic worth every cent Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
Disappointing experience. We went for the chefs journey with wine pairing. The pairing is marked up 200 rand but no extra wine is served with the additional dishes. The wine servings are tiny compared to any wine tasting in Franschoek. The food is ok but often unbalanced with overpowering elements in the dish. The langoustine might be the exception. Service is good, no complaints there, but the experience itself is extremely poor value and the only one we regret in 3 weeks in South Africa.
Food 5/5 Chef’s Journey menu was great. I won’t ruin the surprise. Just try it. Atmosphere 4/5 with normal lighting, but 5/5 during load shedding when it’s mostly candle light Service 6/5 Go before they get a Michelin Star! Meal type: Dinner
Just wow! It was my first time dining at Le coin Francais in Franschhoek and we went all out doing the Chefs Journey menu which includes two additional courses to the tasting menu. All the dishes were perfect and the front of house staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend you try Le coin Francais if you find yourself in Franschhoek.
