Restaurant bewertenThe atmosphere is great. all 6 of us enjoyed delicious meals, we tried all the teller and my healed was the winner then the truffle friars were a tight second.
My team visited for lunch during DC Restaurant Week, the food at the Occidental was really good and we all had something different. The best part of our visit was the service, hands down Ashley is one of the best servers in the area!! Her knowledge of wines (and their appropriate glasses) really scored big with me. She was patient answering our many questions about the menu items and remained kind even when overwhelmed by the group's excitement and enthusiasm. The entire team of servers were professional and etiquette and they all helped to create a wonderful team outing. I look forward to another opportunity to dine here soon.
The food was enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised by the maïsbrod, as I expected the usual starter. The hornbread was served in an iron holder, which helped keep it warm for longer! I ordered the Pasta Special, which featured freshly made pasta with lobster and a medley of flavors. It was quite light! I also tried the Occidental salad, which was fresh and delicious. Normally, after a meal this substantial, I feel so full that I rush out of the restaurant, but that wasn’t the case here. The décor is interesting, with many pictures of influential people from Washington adorning the walls. The staff was attentive!
I had lunch here with a few colleagues, and everything we tried was fantastic! We started with oysters, and they were so delicious that we ended up ordering a second dozen. The Angus burgers and crab cake sandwiches are definitely must-tries. The highlight for me was the BLT made with thick-cut bacon and roasted tomatoes – it was absolutely delicious. The crab sandwich was cooked to perfection, and the addition of the watercress added a nice texture. This place is a gem, especially with its lovely outdoor terrace that’s perfect for sunny days. The overall dining experience and ambiance are top-notch. If you're looking for seafood and American cuisine, this is one of the best spots near the shopping center!
This restaurant is a lovely and peaceful spot for lunch, where you might find it challenging to recall the names of the famous individuals whose portraits adorn the walls. The short rib grilled cheese sandwich was delicious, featuring tender meat along with oozing cheddar and Bel Paese cheese. What truly set it apart was the unique Radicchio-Citrus jam that accompanied it. Additionally, we received excellent service from Chanel.
