Restaurant bewertenIncredible value and great menu they deserve to do well
Malaysian food with a twist. Host and staff are friendly and we were well looked after. Coming to this restaurant if you want something different from usual.
Sitting outside on Burton Street, Jilat Jilat has a vibrant Darlinghurst atmosphere, especially on Mardi Gras day. Love is truly in the air. Inside the cozy cafe, there is a lively party vibe. Despite being in upscale Darlinghurst, Jilat Jilat still maintains its charming hole-in-the-wall street cred, complete with a bainmarie filled with love.
It was my first visit to this cafe and I was very impressed. They serve classic cafe dishes as well as Malaysian dishes. I opted for Malaysian dishes and everything was delicious. Love their Thai milk tea and strong coffee. The homemade chicken curry with salted duck egg pie was pretty special and came with rich curry sauce.Their signature Penang char kuey teow was yum and the nasi goreng kampung was just the bomb! Love how they have sambal belachan too. Totally made everything better! For dessert I chose the homemade durian baked cheesecake. Don’t be afraid to try even if you don’t like durian ‘cause the durian flavour was quite subtle (but the cheesecake was still divine regardless! Highly recommend this cafe.
I absolutely adore this restaurant and hope more people discover it. It's the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The new owner is extremely kind and customer-focused, and the chef is talented. The coffee is fantastic, my favorite breakfast is sourdough, pesto, poached egg, and haloumi, and the laksa for lunch is delicious! They are very vegetarian-friendly and serve alcohol from breakfast to dinner. Highly recommend checking this place out!
