I have been a regular at this restaurant for more than 10 years now. The fish is always freshly cooked to order with a crispy batter. Jack and the staff are very friendly and make you feel valued. I have tried other local fish and chip shops, including McDermott's, but I always come back here because they are consistently the best. A few things to keep in mind: 1. They accept phone orders but do not offer delivery. 2. Only cash payments are accepted, but there is an ATM in The Wine Cellar next door. 3. It is best to avoid the peak hours of 6pm to 7pm as the restaurant can get very busy with wait times up to 30 minutes. An hour later, you can usually walk in without a wait. 4. While they may not be the cheapest option, the quality and portion size make it worth it.

I was very disappointed with the quality of the fish and service at this restaurant. I ordered a large piece of plaice that was dry and thin, covered in greasy batter with barely any fish. They also forgot to include an item in my order, so I had to go back to collect it. Despite being told it would be ready in 10 minutes over the phone, I still had to wait another 10 minutes upon arrival. I am uncertain if I will return to this establishment in the future.

This is the only place we go to for our fish and chips, and it seems like many others feel the same way judging by how busy it usually is! The food is excellent and the service is fast.

They forgot my order and made us wait outside for nearly 30 minutes. I asked where my order was because people who ordered 20 minutes after us got served while we were still waiting, and a staff member started shouting at me. I eventually got my order, but the food was completely cold (I live 3 minutes drive from the shop). I believe the order was sitting on the site the whole time we were waiting. I just wanted to treat my family to fish and chips for dinner, and that experience completely ruined my Saturday night.
