Restaurant bewertenI was very disappointed with my experience. The picture on OpenTable did not accurately reflect the current condition of this place. I chose it for its close proximity to the theater where we were attending a play, but that turned out to be a big mistake. The food was mediocre, to say the least, and the restroom was dirty. There was also no ambience to speak of.
The restaurant didn’t seem prepared for lunch at 12:30, and we were the only customers there. The service was slow, and the meals were disappointing. Additionally, the restaurant was quite cold; it felt chilly throughout the whole place.
The restaurant is located within the Hotel Embassy Suites on Times Square. Finding the entrance took some time due to construction on the Broadway side, but that wasn’t a major issue. The real concern is that, despite the name, this is NOT a French restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. It leans more toward a Mexican menu with a hotel dining vibe. The food was at best mediocre; there wasn't much to write home about. The shrimp tacos were overly spicy and the tortillas were very dry. The onion soup was decent, but the chicken wings were quite disappointing, and the French fries felt like they came from a reheated frozen bag. The location is excellent, offering a great view of Times Square and Broadway, but you can enjoy that view just as well from outside.
I was very disappointed with my experience. The picture on OpenTable does not reflect the actual state of this restaurant, which resembled a landfill. I selected it for its close proximity to the theater where we were attending a performance, and that turned out to be a big mistake. The food was only mediocre at best, the restroom was dirty, and there was no ambiance at all.
The food was outstanding, but despite the restaurant being quite empty, the service was underwhelming.
