Restaurant bewertenI understand that two slices of beef might be the "standard" portion for a roast dinner, but the beef could hardly have been cut any thinner. It was quite disheartening as we live locally and thought it would be better. Along with the three small...More
Had a Mother's Day meal with family at the Egerton Arms yesterday, disappointing. I ordered a roast lamb, but what I got was broad beans in my dinner, (grazing) no darning or picking, a Yorkshire puddle, a small amount of gravy, no lashes of...More no lamb on the bone) not really a proper roast. The dessert was equally disappointing. Our waiter was super fun and attentive with a good arrangement and a lovely smile, that's how he got a tip. The bill we received was wrong (over £70 wrong) but they quickly put the right thank you down. The music was relentless and needed updating, the decor was ok but the whole pub needs to be brought into the 21st century. the atmosphere was low. Sorry. Arms you need to be more with the times. the menu had an item on it that said gluten free, but apparently it had gluten in the dessert, please, you are still outputting the menu without drawing a line through the item and sorting out the error what if one of the servers was in one busy day forget to mention this bug a person could have a serious allergy reaction. Charging £8 for a fragile pudding or bowl of soup is uneasy! I will not come back.
Excellent food very friendly staff toilets were very clean! and melt nicely. Located in the beautiful village by the church.
We visited the Egerton Arms for Sunday lunch with our pooch as it is recently under new management and is now dog friendly. The food and service was really good and the team at the pub are very helpful and welcoming. There is a nice...atmosphere with dogs allowed in the bar area whilst there is a separate dining room without dogs which is perfect for families. We really enjoyed our choice of Sunday roast which is sourced locally, good value for money and service was quick and friendly. The pub is in a lovely location in Astbury village with good parking and a lot of outside space to enjoy during the warmer months and we would definitely recommend a visit.
We stayed 15/02/2022 as we were visiting relatives in the area. Good sized car park and a nice play area (which we didn't use! for children The lovely couple running it have only taken over in the past fortnight, but were very welcoming. A good...sized bedroom, lovely comfy (huge) bed, and nice bathroom with great shower. Fluffy towels, flannels, nice toiletries. Good choice of beverages in room with decent sized mugs, plus a vaccuum flask of iced water a lovely touch. Although we didn't have an evening meal we enjoyed some time at the bar in the evening, decent prices and a fairly good choice. Breakfast was part buffet and then a lovely cooked breakfast with great quality toasted bloomer bread. The landlords are making every effort to use locally sourced food, which we appreciated. We would recommend and hope to return
