Wow... seen their red devil wings or something along the lines of that name. Hottest wings they had a available. Top 3 of all my wing experience. Waitress was hilarious and vibed very well with our group. Bought their blue cheese because that was the best I've ever had. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
First things first when I walked in I was immediately attended to and treated like a valued customer. Sadly I had never made it to Maverick’s despite living nearby for decades. : Thankfully I stopped in between crowds which I avoid when by myself and took it all in for the first time. I almost gave sweeping fives, and maybe am being a bit of a stickler as I’m dying to find a good artichoke dip nearby, and sadly theirs was only okay. It lacked artichokes really, as I think they were minced too finely but also not enough as the other ingredients over powered them. Still the base flavor was good and I took half home were I will add some marinated artichoke hearts I have and it’ll be spectacular because their base was very good. That said I heard they had good wings, and well frankly they were spectacular! I love when I get to make the trek to DSpot out in Woodbury, as it is my wing Mecca, but not even Anoka had wings that match my old love Shark’s Night Club that used to be on the Fridley side of the Camden bridge. So hold the fort These wings were throwbacks and very similar to Shark’s, and certainly a solid wing spot nearby. I just did Buffalo, as when I first check out a spots wings I find it easiest to test texture and wing flavor around the simplicity of a Buffalo sauce. That said, they had great consistency, I suspect double fried for that extra crisp that makes a real difference. If not they cook them to a done well enough they get it close on one go. I can tell with their more complex flavor pairings with the wings are gonna be phenomenal. I say gonna be because I will be going back though probably a late lunch or early afternoon again which may mean longer than I’d like. Is that I’ve discovered it’s uniqueness. Lastly I also had the elotes as well, and when the gentleman who brought them to me said they were his favorites I didn’t think it was just lip service as just looking at them made the my tastebuds start talking to me. They nailed the elotes, they are a must have off the app menu when available. I wish I could have a late lunch there daily, it was really that good. Again, I’m being picky on the artichoke dip because I’m just dying to find that just right one on this side of town. I do have a go to for that elsewhere but I already schilled for another restaurant when really the focus is fully deserved by Mavericks but I hope they don’t mind the small reference as in my experience, either one being mentioned with the other is in fact a compliment. Though keep in mind, Maverick’s is way more than a wing joint, wings were simply an app I heard they did spectacularly well, which was true. So yeah I made a lunch out of APPETIZERS!!! That’s how good it all was, but I’m excited to try some of their sandwiches and entrees on my next few visits. On last mention of the staff, because they were great. I nice crew of folks making for a nice mellow atmosphere.

This was our first experience dining here. The quality of food mirrored that of cafeteria steam table food. Kids' mac and cheese was crusty on top and gelatinous, definitely not a cheese sauce as described on the menu. Meatloaf glaze was burnt and still pink in the center. Nashville hot chicken sandwich was over cooked to where the breading had a burnt taste. Menu advertised cole slaw as the side but came with a store bought pasta salad. Over priced menu. Locals were treated well. Don't waste your money on this establishment.
