Restaurant bewertenWe had lunch and sat outside. The ordering system wasn't too complicated for English people who speak a bit of French. The waitress was polite and efficient. The food was of an excellent quality and very tasty. Portions were quite small for the price but they were beautifully presented. I felt we were kept waiting too long between our starter and our main course but it was a lazy lunch for us so we were actually in no hurry. This is a French restaurant where you will find a real vegetarian alternative.
Needless to say, this being France, this veggie restaurant features a lorry load of meat on its menu. Don't bother to try and make sense of the pricing strategy. Not unless you have the latest Stephen Hawking with you and an aptitude for nuclear physics. Nice food which is well presented.
Fantastic restaurant. It´s not easy to find a place where the ingredients are treated with so much respect. Everything is made with simplicity and with fresh produce. It was so good that during our trip in the region we decided to comeback next day to...Castres just to have lunch in there again.
As a vegetarian, I all too often end up in North African, Lebanese or Asian restaurants when I travel in France. These are good options, mind you. But of, course, eating French in France would be great, wouldn't it? Eating excellent and bio would be...even better. This is where Comme à la maison kicks in. We had a four course menu based on and playing with chicory, polenta, mushrooms, vegetables and pineapple. Beautifully presented and superbly cooked. Together with some really good wine. An experience in taste. And all this for a very reasonable price, about EUR for two persons. Not to mention the very friendly and welcoming service. In short: this is about the best French place I have been to in France during the last or so years. (PS: In case you wonder why you should go to Castres in the first place: the musée Goya is worth a visit
