Le Vieux Castillon - Castillon-du-Gard

A beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. A place to run away and be absorbed in remote French life. The town has a place to eat or buy the necessities, so nothing to do but read a book, have a wine and listen for the church bells every hour.

The hotel has nice, spacious rooms and the staff is very friendly. Also the view from the pool area is magnificent. The breakfast, however, is not good. For €23, per person, you don’t expect a buffet with simple pre baked mini croissants. Besides that you had to pay €5, extra for a very, very bad cappuccino, which we unfortunately saw during the check out. We recommend not having breakfast here, but drive a little further to Avignon, where the prices are way more reasonable than here. They also had bread, eggs and fruit, but the value for money was not good.

All advantages are available for a 4!* If you want to enjoy a quiet weekend, it is the ideal, relaxing, unattended 5 minutes from the Pont du Gard and 30 minutes from the Arènes de Nîmes. Very beautiful establishment with a beautiful history and the teams are at the top A wonderful moment for an end of October

For night, a nice surprise: hotel with hidden, heated pool, spacious and very clean room. Smiling and available staff. We'll be back.
