Restaurant bewertenWow! I just happened to think of THE GOLDEN DAWN. I worked here in 1986 to 87. I was a Waiter here and got trained by Jimmy The Greek. Being a Diner Waiter is a skill. I used to make a boatload of money here....I look at the photos and remember where my Tables were, and where Arty would stand. Phil was the owner and his brother had a spot further up 130. The menu was huge in those days and worth it! It was ALWAYS clean. Sure times have changed but this building brought me a LOT of joy and for that Im forever grateful!!
I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. The eggs were the best part of the meal. They were done close to over easy. The pancake was thin and you could tell it was mixed with too much water. The American fries were barely browned and had zero flavor. The chicken fried steak was the real deal breaker. They used some kind of fish breading and it falls right off when you cut into it and the gravy they use isn't a sausage or a white gravy. To be honest, I don't know what it was. I'm still trying to figure it out in my head. I'm not sure I'll ever come to a conclusion on that.
I used to go here many many years ago as a teen. It hasn't changed. Food is great and our server Dawn was fantastic! My brother and his son were visiting from Texas and he insisted on going here to relive old memories. Golden Dawn didn't disappoint!
The waitress Nancy is wonderful!!!!!!! She was extremely polite, everything we ordered was correct she brought plenty of extras for us and she clearly loves her job. The food is always good here. If you eat here ask to sit where you'll have Nancy as your waitress you won't be sorry....
Ordered chicken parm and asked for small order on a Hunch. Was right, parts are big and that was perfect for me. Had to add some salt, but once it was delicious. The service was also good.
