Restaurant bewertenFirst time we have eaten here normally just stop for a drink. Usual pub grub comfort food much needed on a cold day! Was pleasantly surprised. Best food we have had out for a long time. Definitely will be there again. Excellent value for money too, staff welcoming.
Our group of walkers visited the Western Arms for lunch today. A warm welcome, with a good range of beers including traditional hand pumped Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. A good range of pub style reasonably priced food on the menu, which apparently is under review. The service wasn’t particularly quick, but it was pleasantly executed and worth the wait. Between the ten walkers we enjoyed six different meals plus three different desserts. We are happy to recommend the Western Arms and we look forward to returning before too long.
Like a previous reviewer. we visited on Sunday, 4th July. Quite a long wait before our order taken, and then a further 35 minute wait for carveries to arrive. Our Yorkies were also burnt we just didn't eat that part, but poor quality control in allowing that to be served. The stuffing balls were also crunchy and overcooked. The rest of the food was fine, although the belly pork portion was pretty small, and even the peas were still hard.
Went for the first time for Sunday lunch.4th July 2021 ordered three roast dinners.....all arrived smothered in gravy.....Yorkshire pudding burnt black as well as stuffing and some roast potatoes unable to eat 25% ...did mention to waitress who smiled but made no comment....coffee cold......so needless to say first and last visit ..
Been there a few times recently, the high standard is quite consistent. The food and service is good, and not too expensive. Food takes a while to arrive, but it is worth the wait.
