Restaurant bewertenWe had a great day out, it was steam fair weekend so lots of extras to see, plus some time at the engine house, where a guided tour was much enjoyed, alternatively an independent wander was well worth the time spent here by a couple of our party
Recently called at the SEVERN VALLEY STATION PUB. It was very dark on the approach being 8.30 at night . Had a very nice pint and chat . Did not realise the car park has to be paid this late at night even though car park almost empty, wonder why?, Now had 100 quid demand , 60 if paid quickly. For a company that needs the public support they obviously could not care about extortionate parking charges. I for one will not be giving my support in future. disgraceful
We visited for the autumn steam gala. The whole experience was a shambles. Trains weren't running to timetable and there was only one announced all day. The fly past never happened and again no announcements on this. We attempted to get a coffee in the station cafe. The experience was dreadful. One guy in the till seemed to find it very difficult to deal with coffee selection. The guy making the coffee also seemed to have never made a coffee in his life. I ordered a latte but got a small espresso with about 6 spoons of instant and a tiny dribble of hot water upon asking for more I got another dribble and a confused person. We tried topping it up with milk and sugar but I can honestly say it was the worst coffee I've ever had. The food here is also over priced and very poor. Best bring a flask and your own spam sandwiches!
Had a fabulous day on the railway, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Tried some of the bakes at Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, i.e. blackcurrant crumble cake and forest fruit cake respectively, delicious. It is a superbly run heritage railway and there was a bonus we saw Zebra and Rhinos as we passed the Safari Park at Bewdley.
Had a breakfast for my lunch when down at the S.V.R. Very enjoyable and tasty. Would recommend a wander round and it's free..................
