Restaurant bewertenBoth restaurants in the Mead Inn Conference Center have high prices, aspirations and pretentions. Unfortunately, they have low quality food and service. It's the ultimate lose-lose situation, and why I would advise ANYONE considering a trip there to eat to reconsider.
Bartender is great!!!! Leave fun and accommodating!!
We had reservations for Valentine's dinner. I was a bit worried when I called a reservation on Monday (Valentines Day was Friday); I asked if she had any specials for Valentine's Day and the person on the phone had no idea. It was said: “we are completely open, choose your time” – apparently not a really popular place. But we wanted to try something new and stayed this night at the Mead Inn (which ALSO was a great disappointment – old, ran, dirty and expensive). Our waitress was very friendly. My wife ordered a Malibu and orange juice from the bar and said that there was not even a hint of Malibu in it. Straight ahead. Since we had plans after dinner, we ordered our entrees immediately, first chance we got. Our salads were good. But then we waited over an hour — and THEN, the waitress informed us that they were all from the steaks we had chosen. They replaced a much lower quality steak, which was 80% fat and insensitive, even though it was properly cooked, but none of us were. I ordered “made” and it came as raw meat. Management didn't invite us for dinner, but we were hungry and wasted two hours there totally, and it ruined our evening. I understand that this place is under new management, but if this is all better what they can do, they really have to give it up. Or take a cooking class and set a chef. As I said, the waitress was nice. We left her a tip; I know that we were not the only ones whose special dinner was ruined there... but the rest of the experience – including the atmosphere of the place – needs a total and complete do-over. We won't be back.
Very disappointed, went to brunch, apparently her last brunch, I can understand why. It took much longer to get space when there were 2 of the waitresses, ignoring us finally the 3rd came out of the kitchen and got one of them to put us. Much different from here a year ago. The buffet was cold, the Omelet had a taste I couldn't place. Coffee was bitter, but waffle was great when u got one that was cooked by. 3 waitresses and only 1 smiled and knew their job. Of the other 2 1 never smiled and others 1 had no idea how to do their work properly. The good deserts didn't come out until we just got up. And the bill! Definitely not worth $15, could be if better ran.
Great prices and comfortable atmosphere. Happy hour from 4 to 6!
