Johnny's Farmhouse - Winston-Salem

I've been to this place once. I'm not difficult to please, but there were some stark failures.1. Chicken and Dumplings with NO dumplings; not one.2. All white meat. Everyone knows the flavor is in dark meat.3. Tall cup; short straw.4. Stems in the collards.5. Sugar in the cornbread.I feel it's unfair to rate it less because I've only tried this one dish. Other things might be good. I'll never know.Service was mediocre. Our server was kind, but not exactly johnny-on-the-spot.They did comp us the Chicken and Dumplings.

Goodbye Cracker Barrel. I have a new favorite comfort food restaurant! Food was excellent! I had the Saturday Night Special Pot Roast and it tasted just like mom's. The pintos were absolutely the best I have ever had. I would have been happy with a Big Bowl as a meal. The biscuits were excellent too. The only 4 star item for me was the corn bread. Don't get me wrong, it was great, however it was sweet. I prefer cornbread without sugar. Just my personal preference. We will definitely be back.

Went this evening and it was rough from start to finish. They have issues to work out with timing and service but that is not the reason for the low rating.My wife and I both got the fried chicken and the breasts were so dry that they were inedible. Nothing was seasoned. The mac and cheese was another let down, tasted like velveeta. Yeah We got the blooming onion as an app and it was by far the best thing we got. It did come out at the same time as the rest of our food.If you do decide to give this place a try, I would give them some time to work things out.

So my wife and I have been waiting for this place to open with great anticipation for some time now and are very happy they have now done so. We went today and really enjoyed ourselves. The manager, Kelsey greeted us upon arrival and seated us. She jumped right in and took our drink and food orders. Really nice to see a manager willing to do more than stand around...that helps out the staff!!! Our food was fantastic and came with very generous portions. We strongly suggest trying them out...we don't feel that you will be disappointed. We will definately be back!!!

Yall let me tell you about this place. 1st it is hands down the most amazing place you will eat at. If you want home cooked food thus is the place for you. Also our server Sydne was so sweet,knowledgeable,honest and just the best you definitely ask for her. FYI the banana pudding is just like your grandmother's recipe. This will definitely be our new weekly spot.
