Izakaya Edokko - Winnipeg

Those of you who follow my contributions know that I have this love for everyone, the Japanese food. for my last night in winnipeg I decided to visit izakaya, which was very close to the hotel. very inconceivable. beautiful furnishings and atmosphere. prompt seating. I decided to do something else. I ordered the sushi and sashimi plate, where then sushi cook the selection of fish. also comes with appetizers, miso suppe and gloomy. it was all amazing. from beginning to end. the mango ice was so good! definitely recommend. I hope I will visit Winnipeg again if I want to eat here again.

First and second visit within two weeks. Both occasions were lunch but I can't see why dinner wouldn't be just as stellar. First visit was the Chef's special bento box (only 10 available). A cornucopia of delights, an amazing value for the price point. Second visit was their ramen and it passed muster without issue. Tasty broth, perfectly done noodles, with just a little bite to them. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. A great variety on the menu.

Wow! From 5-6 pm there is happy hour where you pick 3/$14 sushi and appetizers. So good quality fish and oh so fresh!!!! Sapporo on tap for $5.50 too. I will be definitely back!!!

Outstanding discovery this traditional Japanese restaurant has fresh, flavorful, perfectly composed sushi. The sushi chef is masterful. It ranks up there with the nigiri and sashimi you would expect a stone's throw from Sukiji in Tokyo only the available varieties distinguish the two. Highly recommended as an affordable, superb sushi experience!

Izakaya has the best sushi. The ingredients are superior. The preparation and freshness are outstanding. I dream of the New Style Roll and others too. A hidden gem.
