Restaurant bewertenOne of his requests, as and when this day came, was for the wake to be held here. He'd been a regular visitor here over the years with the local blind society. They were incredibly helpful and friendly and the buffet was never ending (we'd asked them to cater for about 80 and around 60 65 came). The only must haves were Gala Pie, turkey sandwiches and cheese the rest was up to the pub. They'd laid everything on for us in the adjoining barn skittle alley but due to the fab weather, a lot us chose to sit outside a bit of a surprise to the locals when they starting turning up, but the more the merrier.Nothing was too much trouble and when we came to leave (4.5 hours later) there was still plenty of food left and this was happily consumed over the remainder of the evening by the locals. This is a proper local and would imagine that if you did wander in off the street, you would get a second look but that's just what people do.We'd happily stop off here if we were down that way again.
We used to frequent this pub a lot, but moved away. When we visited family in the area we popped in to have a catch up with friends. The pub is still a good as it used to be and offers a good range of drinks. Well worth a visit.
I was traveling through the Windsor area last month with my family, and we stopped in this charming village for a bite to eat and a brew. We came across The Greyhound and thought it looked like a cute little place to stop. How wrong we were...looks definitely can be deceiving. The place was busy, but the patrons were loud and obnoxious, using foul language...which was obviously the norm as they were not asked to tone it down or take it outside by the management. The bar maid ignored us, but the final straw was when men started passing gas and thinking it funny. We got up and left. I only wish I had read Molly 's review before going to that area: I would have steered clear. It is an embarrassment to that area. Definitely not a family type atmosphere.....more of a locals only pub.
I Love This Pub And Have Spent Many A Good Night In Here, The Music On Saturday Nights And Sunday Lunchtime's Is Always Very Good Especially The Ukay Ukes. It's A Very Family Friendly Pub That I Am Very Happy To Bring My Children In To.
Good atmosphere, nice people and great beer. Dog friendly and a all round great pub. Strongly recommend :
