Restaurant bewertenHad a takeaway from here. On the plus side the staff were friendly and the fish was lovely with a crispy, if slightly thick, batter. The let down was the chips! As a Brit I know a good chip and it wasn't these. Undercooked and pale, yet still managing to be soggy, they were left on the plate.
I keep reading alot of negative reviews on tripadvisor for O'Connor's. We were recommended this chippy from a friend, and i am so glad we took her advise against the reviews. We were served by a really friendly Irish girl who went above and beyond to get me an authentic Scottish chippy experience by making me 'chippy sauce' that we have back home in Edinburgh. The food was fresh and really took me back to the UK. Great place for dinner if you are feeling a little home sick. Ignore the bad reviews!
Don't risk it people. The food is disgusting. The chips where reheated and burned. Wouldn't recommend it to a human.
We had a bad experience a few months ago and gave them benefit of the doubt that it was a one off. After visiting yesterday we found it wasn't the case. the Chips were really small portions compared to previous times and very over done. the Fish batter was wet and not crispy and the fish itself was just really bland.the prices they are charging are way to much for the quality they are now outputting. i won't be going back.
This is the closest you going to get to real british fish and chipps, and their great. They have a good selection of fish to choose from and proper chips :-). Portions are a good size and 1 large chips does feed two people.
