Restaurant bewertenThis charming cafe is located in a historic building. It used to be a shop with a traditional feel. I'm in the mood for a cup of tea!
We arrived just in time for lunch and ordered sandwiches and a cream tea. The children's sandwich was good value. My request for a ham sandwich without mayo or mustard, as well as no dressing on the salad, was easily accommodated. The sandwiches were tasty and came with a salad garnish and vegetable crisps. The brown bread was fresh and flavorful. The scones were also delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tea. The National Trust tea rooms offer a variety of delicious cakes, making it hard to choose just one. The staff was polite and helpful. The setting was picturesque and the tea room was charming. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!
The restaurant seemed either understaffed or disorganized. It appeared to be run by a group of young people, some of whom were friendly and helpful, while others were not. There was a lack of adult supervision, resulting in long waits at tables that were left uncleared. The prices were also expensive. I experienced this same issue twice recently, once on a slow day and once on a busy one.
Super coffee and very pleasant staff and the cake is rather gorgeous after a good wander around the village.Like stepping back in time
Lovely tea room with ok service. It strikes me that the staff struggle a little when it is busy but the food is great. Could do with an extension for more seating inside but great food and mammoth cake makes an amazing end to a great day.
