Restaurant bewertenI meet regularly with friends for coffee or lunch. I usually have the pumpkin soup which is served with two thick slices of bread with butter. Delicious! A wood fire stove supplies heat but the atmosphere is not cosy due to the position of the restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. (Toilets are outside and they really need to check the seurage system because it really smells outside.) The selection of plants etc for sale very good.
This is not a restaurant. It is a down to earth cafe in a garden setting with great service, friendly staff and good home cooking. The best scones in Melbourne. Many elderly people enjoy this venue.Easy excess and space for wheelchairs etc.l love to support local buisness and kind friendly people who care.
I took my grandparents to Banksia for lunch. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the menu (mainly overpriced sandwiches) and the crowded tables. Most of the patrons are elderly and it's difficult to move around as the tables are so close together. We ended up ordering scones with jam and cream which were large but undercooked and I don't think it is possible to have given us less jam or cream. Very mean.It would be fine if you wore yourself out looking at plants and needed a quick cuppa but otherwise, save yourself the disappointment.
We came for a nice coffee and scones on a Sunday afternoon with the kids. We live local so we like to support local business. The cafe was half full with two servers. We were told to take a seat and our order would be taken at the table. We noticed one of servers stopping for a social chat to a couple at another table as we patiently waited to be served. After waiting for around 10 minutes (which I feel is a pretty reasonable time to wait in a half filled cafe) my husband caught the eye of the blonde waitress who responded with a hi, then completely ignored us and walked to a table of women who were clearly getting as annoyed as us. After she had taken their order she was walking back to the counter and my husband called her again. She replied that she would be with us soon with what I could only call a dismissive attitude. My husband obviously felt the same so we waited a few more minutes and then politely got up and left!! We will NOT be visiting this local venue again. Very disappointed.
I have had lunch there regularly for years. The people are friendly great service and lots of home made food. Excellent choice of menu, great atmosphere, very well patronised bookings necessary. Lovely atmosphere among plants. Catering available.
