Restaurant bewertenWe have been to Alfred's Homestead a few times now and it has never failed to delight us all. The food was delicious and even the fussiest eater could not find anything to fault. All food was delightfully fresh and replenished regularly. Staff are delightful, attentive and friendly. Our Hosts were more than accommodating in the smallest of requests. I love the floor show and enjoy the chance to sing along. Cannot find a fault - plenty of carparking, dining areas are not overcrowded, bar selection is brilliant. Well worth a visit.
Attended as a 4 adult family for a great Sunday lunch. Most smorgasbords you want to stack up the plate, but here where the food would be 4 or 5 star if à la cart it deserves the respect of several (many) trips to taste the range of foods as separate courses. Presentation of information advising of the many gluten free items is clear with the knowledgable staff obviously understanding this aspect of dietary requirements. Table service for clearing plates is regular and friendly and enables drinks to ordered often (if required). This was a great lunch and very relaxing - just like a visit to a welcoming family in an Aussie outback homestead
We first visited Alfreds a couple of years ago for a birthday celebration, and have returned three times since, most recently for my own birthday. The menu offers a variety of healthy and delicious options, including classic dishes presented with flair. The restaurant is spacious and relaxed, making it perfect for families with children who can run around and play without any issues. We enjoyed dancing to old favorites on the dance floor, although the live entertainment was a bit cheesy. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and we always make a reservation in advance. Last time, we even received a nice discount for booking early, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, a fun and enjoyable night out in a beautiful setting.
The atmosphere is old school and comfortable. Plenty of great choices in the smorgasbord including yummy king prawns. Entertainment by father and son singing is loads of fun. A great family place.
After getting past the initial surprise of the white plastic tablecloths, you will find all the makings of a traditional and enjoyable dining experience. The rustic decor adds a charming "homestead" feel to the restaurant. The menu offers classic home-cooked dishes, with a buffet-style selection of soup, roast meats, vegetables, and various cold sides, including a nice variety of seafood options like prawns, mussels, and oysters. Desserts feature Australian favorites and a wide range of choices. The drink prices are quite reasonable. A highlight of the evening is the floor show, where a father and son chef duo perform duets of popular songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, creating a nostalgic soundtrack of youthful years. Note that the restaurant is only open for dinner on Saturdays and lunch on Sundays. Look out for GROUPON discount vouchers to make the dining experience even more affordable.
